Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Questions!Ha

Questions!

Have you ever had a burning question you always wanted to ask another CBer but never had an opportunity? Here is the place to do it- at a CBer Questions thread. Just ask any other CBers random questions and chat about random things.

@Ashlee how long have you been on the CB? Looking at some old threads I see you've been her a while. But when did you officially join?

@Elementgirl what's your favourite food?

@Crookshanks have you ever been over seas? Where?

@Lucy, this may be a dumb question but is Lucy you're real name?

@Clouded Leapord, this technically isn't a question, but when I went overseas to Japan I saw some beautiful paintings of leopards in old buildings. People in Japan used to believe that every third tiger cub turned out to be a leaopard.

@Leafpool, Do you have any pets? What types?

@Leeli, if you could become any animal in the world what would you become?

@Silverwaxwing Happy Birthday! Do you have any good riddles? I need a good riddle right now.

@Starseeker what's the first word that comes into your head in 3...2...1...

@Pepper Star how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

@Abigail, What are some of your long term goals? (publish a book, climb Mount Everest, ect)

@Icy if you could have any super power what would it be?

@Admins, what are some of your hobbies? Do you like to write books?

I will post more later. Enjoy!

My hobbies include hiking, swimming, cross-country skiing, reading, playing violin, traveling (espeically to natural areas like the National Parks), and watching figure skating, especially competitions.  No, I don't write books, but I do keep travel journals.

This is an awesome idea LilyPad!

The first thing that came to mind when you counted down was "BLASTOFF!" Then it was banana.

Blastoff is pretty obvious why, but banana takes some explanation. Here is a conversation between Poetic Panda (who is my sister, if you didn't know by now) and me, that took place a few years back.

Poetic Panda: *looks down at banana she's eating* Uh Oh.

Starseeker: What?

Poetic Panda: I'm eating a banana.

Starseeker: ...and?

Poetic Panda: Bananas have POTASSIUM.

Starseeker: ...and?

Poetic Panda: Potassium EXPLODES!

(So yeah. That's pretty much my family. Whenever I hear someone counting down I think of explosions, and whenever I think of explosions I think of exploding potassium, which leads me to... bananas.)

@LilyPad: Why is your CBer name LilyPad? Is there something special behind it, or was it just cool? (answer for me: gosh, this is too long to get into now, but my name has meaning)

@Anya, Lucy B., Abi, and Ashlee G.: If you could have any CBer name what would it be? (my answer: if I could have any other CBer name it would be Sterling Shadows, because that's the pen name i write under-- long story.)

@Leeli, LilyPad again, CoyoteDomino, Anya again, Vyolette, elementgirl, Pheasantwithbooks, Abigail S. again, Silverwaxwing, Bluebird, Nighthawk, General Waffleson, Pepper Star, September, Crookshanks, Lucy again, Catsclaw, Leafpool, Icy, and everyone else I missed (not on purpose, I just scrolled through all the areas of the CB and saw who had posted lately and wrote them down): what surprises people most about you when they first meet you? (when people meet me they are most surprised by the fact that I am only my age. Everybody thinks I'm older, because I'm tall and I carry myself proudly. Plus I act more mature than most people my age, and I'm one of the youngest people in my grade.)

@LilyPad thank you! Uuuuh .... I'm not sure if I have a good riddle off the top of my head. Sorry!

@Starseeker Weeeeelll probablyl that I'm younger than they think because I'm also tall....and I like to think that I am mature... ;) xD Also that my sister and I aren't closer in age cause we look a LOT alike and I'm actually taller than her even though she's six years older. Annnnnd I don't know what else because I'm not a mind reader (sadly) xD

I'll try to post some questions later!

@Starseeker- People usually think I'm older than I am. I am 13 and 5' 7", and fairly mature when I comes to problem solving (my sense of humor, on the other hand...)

@Bluebird:

MIND. BLOWN. *makes explosion noises*

WE'RE THE SAME AGE!

I always assumed you were so much older, because you seem so mature!

@Starseeker- DITTO MIND. BLOWN. I thought you were WAY older! I thought for sure that you were like 16, or something! Wow.

Thirteen... I was terrible at drawing when I was 13, how--? No. You know what? I'm now officially worshipping Bluebird.

@Starseeker

When people meet me (or just after they meet me) they're really surprised at how chill and easygoing I can actually be. At the beginning, I usually seem really OCD and intense, but I'm not.

I'll answer Starseeker's question even though it wasn't specifically addressed to me: I'd have to say the thing that most surprises people is that my brother is my twin, even though he's about 8 inches taller.

@Bluebird, how are you such a good poetry writer? You seem to win everything.

@Elementgirl, how old are you and how long have you been on the CB?

@All HP fans, who else doesn't like Chamber of Secrets?

How funny! The thing that most surprises people is my age, too! I've only begun eighth grade, and there has been people that walk up to me and ask, "So, when'd you gradute, and where are you going to collage?" Then I have to say, "Um, I'm only 13..." XD
@Lilypad- Do you actually like koalas? Or was it just something that you made up for Dragonfruit?
@Kitten- The Chamber of Secrets is the one when H, H, and R go through all those obsticals, like with the chestboard, and huge plant, right? Or am I getting it mixed up with another book? Personaly, my least favorite book is The Order of The Pheonix. It drags so much, and not a lot of important things happen.

@Kitten- Thank you for the compliment! I read a lot of Slam poetry and those have kind of taught me the style of poetry that I like and want to write. I also have a main metaphor or theme for every poem that I kind of branch off of, and I take inspiration from places/people I know and experiences I've had.

@Starseeker- Uhhh... Sometimes my age. I'm pretty tall. And virtually in chats, too. I bother with full sentences and spell things right so people assume I am older than I am.

@everyone, if you're comfortable sharing- What are your real names?

@September- What would your dream house look like?

@Nighthawk- If you had to choose one band that you could only listen to for the rest of your life, what would it be?

@Leafmist- What kind of weather is your favorite/ are you a cold or hot person?

@St. Owl- If you had to choose a last meal, what would it be?

@Rae- If your could talk to one fictional character for an hour, who would you talk to?

@Viola?- What kind of music do you listen to/who are your favorite artists/what are your favorite songs?

@Vyolette- What is your biggest pet peeve?

@Admins- Have you ever been to another country? If you have what did you like most about it?

Oh, I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit several countries. It's impossible to pick one thing I liked the most about each one, so I'll just list one of the many things for each country.

Canada: scenery in the Rockies

England: the beautiful cathedrals

Scotland: warm apple tart ala mode in a hotel in Edinburgh

Italy: the Amalfi coast, Florence, canelloni, pizza, the Adriatic coast, church bells ringing

Austria: the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Eve concert

Germany: Bavarian scenery, castles

Switzerland: Lucerne music festival, beautiful lake, mountains

Well, I guess some of those have more than one.

@Bluebird- My biggest pet peeve is when I walk into my room after about an hour after I cleaned it, and my little sister's things are ALL OVER THE FLOOR. IT LOOKS LIKE THE ROOM THREW UP! It just- AGH!!!  Also, my in real life name is Selah, pronounced Say-lah. All evenly, not one syllable more stressed than the other. It's Hebrew, from the Bible, and means "A pause of peace". Most people have a really hard time pronouncing it when they read it, and call me 'SELL-lah', or 'Say- LAH', or 'SEE-lah' and much, much more. It seems that the possibilities are endless, because they call me something different every time! XD

@Admins- You've gone to ALL of those places!? *Sighs* My one wish (Ok, not one...) is to go to Oulu, Finland. That's all I'm asking for.

I'll post some more questions later.

I know I was very fortunate. Both the European trips were related to the work of a family member, and I just got to go along. Only Canada was for my own pleasure, with friends. And I've lived more years than you have. You have a whole life ahead of you.
