Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

The figure stood

The figure stood on a bench, proud and tall, dressed in a black ninja suit. "This magnificent, warm, lovely cookie is mine! ALL MINE!!!" The figure burst into laughter, then slowly began to eat the cookie, laughing cruelly as if they were eating candy in front of a bunch of starving orphans.

Just as the cookie was about to touch the cruel stranger's un-cookie-deserving lips, I sprung into action, running over and grabbing... THE MOST AMAZING COOKIE IN THE UNIVERSE. The undeserving stranger looked at me angrily, but I, skilled in the fine art of cookie snatching, simply handed them a warm, plastic cookie replica and quickly ran away.

I jumped on top of a picnic table and declared my victory within a two-mile radius usig a megaphone. "THE COOKIE IS MINE!" I yelled joyfully.

Suddenly I became aware of a bunch of people eagerly eyeing my cookie.

This is basically a continuation of Shoshannah's original Cookie thread (The link is below, and it contains all the rules). Whoever has the cookie on September 21st wins the game and is allowed to eat the cookie!

A person stands on a picnic table holding a delicious-looking cookie in the air. "The cookie is mine!" they proclaim. "Not for long!" I call out, running up to the picnic table and tussling with them until it comes into my hand. I run with it to a pile of boulders, which I climb up. "Come and get it," I taunt, preparing to take a delicious bite.

In my dragon form, I swoop down on Kitten just as she's preparing to take her first bite of the cookie. Snatching it in my talons, I soar away, sun glinting on my golden scales as I scan the area for a secluded place to devour my prize. I can hear the shouts of angry cookie cravers behind me and simply can't resist turning around to taunt them. I roar my triumph, blasting them all with smoky breath.

The cookie is mine! But it wasn't for long...

OH! Eevee said Adar! That's a Hebrew month! Nice!

Cockleburr's dragon breath hits me, but I push through, leaping over her head and snatching the cookie just before she snaps it in her scaly jaws. I speed past the angry mob of cookie wanters, and dart up a tree just before someone can steal my still-warm snack.

"Aha! It is mine, SUCKERS!" I yell, unaware of the figure behind me.

Leeli's was the first posted, so let's go with that one. In the future, try to wait until the last posted comment shows up so that we don't get confused! Carry on, cookie lovers! :)

A dragon swoops down and grabs my cookie. No! I must have it! I chase the dragon as it taunts the crowd, but it is unprepared for me! With my very strong Irish-dancer calves, I jump into the air and grab the cookie. Then I quickly straddle the dragon in such a way that it cannot get my cookie, or get me off.

I wait until it is twitching in just the right direction, then fling myself off and cling to a tree branch. "Ha! You will never get my cookie!" I say nefariously, preparing for the second time to take a bite.

Just as Cockleburr turns around to taunt everyone, I swoop up, my wings flapping wildly, and grab it while she's turned around. "HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I yell!

All right!

Nymph~

I notice a crowd chasing after something, so I quickly shift into a falcon and follow. They're clustered around a tree now. There's someone climbing it. Is that... That's the girl they call Leeli. She's holding a cookie. If they're all after a cookie, it must be good.

I get close and shift to a fly. The world slows down around me and I dive for the cookie that now floods my senses. It's a really, really good cookie, I can tell. I land. Leeli slowly looks down, but I'm shifting, I'm a falcon again, and this cookie is mine. I have a good hold on it, and the combination of my sudden appearance and a flurry of wing flapping in her face startles her enough that I get away with ease.

The crowd follows, but I'm both a peregrine falcon, the fastest bird alive, and a shapeshifter, and Nymph. They can never catch me. But I have to land to eat this cookie.

I choose a convenient stone bench, partially hidden by flowers and plants. I want to be able to fly, but also to appreciate this cookie with the taste buds of a human and a good sense of smell, so I choose the form of a harpy with a bear's nose. It might look a little silly, but all I care about right now is this cookie.

I inhale deeply, and oh, the cookie smells like HEAVEN. It's so beautiful, just the perfect balance of chewy and crisp, a sweet, luscious dream, it almost overwhelms me.

I inhale again and again, lost in the paradise of this cookie. I don't even notice the crowd beginning to catch up...

I sit in the tree, looking around for the new holder of the Cookie. I've been following the people for a while trying to decide the best time to snatch it. The ledgends of the Cookie had spread even to my treehouse in the woods near the city. The crowd approaching the stone bench in the corner should be a pretty good hint as to it's location. I dash over the treetops and jump onto the red roof of a nearby building, nearly falling off. I slowly creep over the roof to the spot above the bench where the Cookie-holder is sitting and snatch it from their grasp. They let out a cry of utrage and try to grab my leg as I scramble up the roof once more. The crowd also cries in out rage and follows me along the rooftops as I dash back to the forest. Then I notice the blockade. The Crowd had stacked themselves on top of eachother to form a blockade between me and the forest. I gather up all my stregth and leap with all my might. I fly over the blockade, using the topmost person's head as a springboard, launching me into the treetops. I grab onto the nearest branch and haul myself up. Clambering over and swinging under branches, I head in the general direction of the treehouse while the crowd surges below. I reach my treehouse and pull myself through the trapdoor on the roof. I lean against the wall, panting. The Cookie was mine. I looked at the Cookie and think longingly of what it would be like to just take one bite. I'm so deep in thought I don't hear the rustle of leaves above my treehouse roof...

I use every bit of my strong cat nose to track the cookie. I decide that it must be in a treehouse, as it is not on the ground anywhere and I find a track to the forest. A quick search finds the treehouse just before the rest of the crowd. I climb the tree above it, grab the fabulous, scrumptious, amazing, wonderful, fantastic, beautiful, delicious, mouth-watering cookie, and run deep into the forest, my ears perked for the slightest sound of followers. I spot a tiny cave and squish inside to take my long-anticipated bite, never expecting the walls to come crashing down on top of me.

Just rolling one boulder out of place caused the whole cave to go crashing down on the traitor Kitten. They flinched and threw the cookie up into the air. I caught it deftly in my tail.

"Too slow. The cookie is now mine," I purred. A yank on my tail startled me, and I yowled as I tightened my hold on the cookie.
