Well, a 1 dollar word is when you add up the numerical value of each letter in a word, and it equals exactly 100. As an example, mittens.

That's hard! Yellow is 92, vanilla is 71, eclipse is 69, under is 62, understand is 110, wonder is 79, meanwhile is 90, okay, I give up for now. Or... I'll try one more. Nightstand is 106. Oh, I just came up with an idea. If we find different words that make compound words and then see what works with each other, we might get close.
