Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
Admin, on Chirp
Admin, on Chirp at Cricket, I believe there is an overflow of Book Club threads. There are about... 4 or 5 threads for it, on the main page, and they are sort of annoying. They have one for voting, one for the main, ANOTHER for the main, and then one for the book. the situation isn't as bad as for Warriors and Blab About Books, but it's sorta annoying.

Chirp at Cricket is for the discussion of the mag and the buggies, not books.
(June 16, 2009 - 2:06 pm)
Yeah... try telling that to everyone else who uses it as a randomness page. Personally, it annoys me, but it's not worth getting upset over.
Pirocks, you're right. There ARE a lot of book club threads, and I can see how that would be a little annoying. Maybe once this moves to the top the other members will see?

Nah, I don't agree so much, whatever the FAQ say. I said this already on some other thread, but I can't find it to copy and paste. In the FAQ, there's a question: "Q. I'm not quite sure which is the right area for me to post my ideas. What should I do?
A. Always do your best. The Chatterbox will grow and evolve along with the comments of the readers." CaC has evolved from just ""Chirp at Cricket" is the area if you want to say hello to the bugs and
offer suggestions for the kinds of stories you'd like to see in the
magazine." Most of that is done in This Month now. CaC has changed.

I agree there are too many... Admin, any ideas?
(June 16, 2009 - 11:05 pm)
to Admin: Sorry, forgot to say ideas for what. It's for what to do about all the book club threads.

Lets not get heated. If you think there need to be more threads about other things on here, then create them! When you make a thread against too many threads, you are making another thread about the topic! And threads cannot be removed, usually, but if you create a more popular thread, they will go farther back in the Chatterbox. So please, stop this, "I'm tired of all these threads contaminating and jamming the Chatterbox!" The whole point of the Chatterbox is for people to talk about interests, and there is unlimited space on here. And, I may have just gotten heated. Oops! */*

Pirocks, I think that what people mainly do on CaC is socialize. At least something is happening here.
(June 16, 2009 - 8:25 pm)
Yaa, CaC has sort of become a place for socializing. But that's good! :) I like it!! :D I mean, where else would you put the random tests I make?? Not DtE, if you want to stick to the exact rules, because then it would have to be about something about the world around us. Hmmm? I don't think the Admin will get mad if we put something in CaC that may not be quite what CaC's intended for. ;) :):)
Right, Paige. We enjoy hearing whatever you want to say [as long as it's appropriate].

Yeah, and generally I don't have a problem with out-of-topic things being in a topic. Like, there are no categories for 'Paige's Random Tests,' so it's fine to have those in here. I was just thinking maybe the book club should be in Blab about Books because, well, that just seems to fit so well. But I don't have a problem if we don't.
(June 17, 2009 - 5:11 pm)
Yeah, if you want a book club, go on blab about books. maybe you'll start to drown out the warrior's roleplay threads :D:D:D:D
(June 16, 2009 - 11:07 pm)
Now, THAT I wouldn't mind. The bookclub would probably have threads on better books than the warriors role-play.
(June 19, 2009 - 5:54 am)
Yeah, but I haven't seen much of the Warriors roleplay on there anyway.
(June 19, 2009 - 4:42 pm)
i like Warriors! If you do not, you do not have to read them! But that is mean to say that we cannot do role-plays!!!!!!!!!!
(June 21, 2009 - 4:47 pm)
I wasn't saying that you can't do roleplays. I was saying there are too many threads for them, a situating the Book Club there would decrease the number of Warriors threads that are taking over. It's sorta annoying to come home from school, and have to shift through pages of Warriors Roleplays to get to the book page you want. Also, please remember to capitalize "I". And use periods. Like this -> . <- (They end sentences without making you sound hyperhyperhyper.
(June 22, 2009 - 3:18 pm)
Funny, I was just noticing that I hadn't seen as many of those threads these days, but maybe I've just gotten used to them. And I still don't get the thing with correcting other people's grammar, but in the name of not causing a huge debate over punctuation, I shall say no more. Sorry Admin... this post could have easily not been started.
