DANCE PREFORMANCE

I have a dance performance today, and three tomorrow!  I'm tap dancing with a group in a company for a summer conclusion to the season.  I'm dancing to "Rather be" by Pentatonix.

Wish me luck! (even though the first show will be over by the time I see this)

Well, all's said and done, I almost did a wrong move at some point, and I slipped during the finale for all to watch.

Don't worry, mistakes happen. Unless you're Gene Kelly, you don't need to worry about it. (Not sure how that second sentence makes sense, but hey, gotta bring up Gene Kelly!) I'm sure the performance was awesome! It's really cool that you tap. I took tap lessons this year, but I, only okay at it. I cannot do pullbacks! Do you have any advice on that?

Well, I'm not that great at pullbacks either, but I like to think of it as cramp rool but going backwards.

My favorites are buffalos and alexanders.

A buffalo is jump, shuffle, jump and alexanders are flap, heel, heel, brush back, heel, toe, heel.  it took me forever to learn.  That was for all the people who don't speak dance.

Cool! I like buffaloes too, including buffalo turn. 

I was about to type that I had never learned Alexanders, but then I stood up and tested out the specific steps you mentioned. My feet somehow knew exactly what to do, and I realized I had learned Alexanders. I just had never been told the name. I think I did them in a combo at a class some time.

Hum, my dance teachers have always called the Alexander a Broadway. I think it actually has more then 2 names?

Good luck for your next show, and all future performances. Don't worry about mistakes, they happen to everyone. I am sure everyone in the audience has for gotten all about the fall, and are focusing on how amazing the performance was! We love you, good luck!

I love Rather Be! I did a dance to it a few years back with my dance team as a dance to say Farewell to my favorite dance teacher. She had to move cause of the altitude and expensivness of where I live. ); she was like a second mother to me.....

Break a leg on all your other future dances! Do you compete too?

I don't compete in dance because it would be too hard to figure out a work-around every time a swim meet corresponds with a dance competition.  And I'm focusing on swim.
