Predictions of the Future~ What do you think fashion will be like in 50 years?

So, at the moment, I'm working on a novel that takes place in 2070, so around 50 years in the future. In The Hunger Games, future fashion is crazy and full of wild colorful hair, strange makeup, and weird looking shoes/clothing. In The Maze Runner and Divergent, people wear clothes similar to what we have today. But, when you look back 50 years, fashion has changed a lot, and gone through a lot of crazy trends. It got me thinking- what do you think will be mainstream fashion in 50 years? What will be trendy and what will be totally different from what we have today?

 

H'm . . . I have no idea! This would be a good theme for a Cricket League art contest!

This is such a great topic! Now that you've brought that up, I'd like to know that as well. Based on what fashion was like 50 years in the past, it might be crazy hunger games style clothes 50 years in the future. if I had to bet, I'd guess that.

I saw some pictures of famous singers and actors at a party a few weeks ago. I was totally blown away by the craziness of their costumes. I mean, no need to look to the future...Hunger Games-style clothing is already here.

My prediction...*grins sinisterly*...is that the 80's shall return! Maybe not in exactly 50 years, but sometime in the future--the 80s will come back. >:D At least in part.

(I actually kind of like 80s-style stuff. Especially the music. XD)

To tell the truth, I have no idea what we'll wear. I would say something like what we wear today, but like Bluebird said, fashion's changed a lot since 50 years ago. Maybe fashion designers will come up with something completely new! Although, in 50 years I'll be old to wear it and look good in it.
