MY THOUGHTS...

MY THOUGHTS...

It just came upon me that we don't even know who is an impersonator and who is not. I have seen some very recently, and the impersonator(s) is/are getting very sneaky. Most of them know a specific CBers writing habits, so they try to write exactly like them. Others, simply say at the end of a thread or comment, "I am not an impersonator " which is a lie in most impersonator cases. It's a scary thought that we don't even know who is posting what anymore. How do we know, that is the real question.

We don't. There is literally no way to know. You must trust that when somebody says it's them, it's them.

(I swear this is me. Cross my heart and hope to die, eat a danish and some pie.)

I think we should post under anonymous names when addressing this issue.

First of all, I used to believe that the Admins could read ip addresses due to the Kyngdom vote (sorry Admins, you know who I am), and if they can't, what do we do?

If you have a relative on the CB, they're honestly the only person who can confirm it's you. If you can contact someone outside the CB, do so and try to come up with some sort of way to tell it's you between them.

I actually do not know who you are. I have no idea.

Yeah, there's no way to know. So we just need to be trustworthy people and only post under our own personal psudonyms. I've always looked at it as an honor code type thing. I have occasionally wondered if I would impersonate someone. But I won't because it's lying. And I try never to lie, especially to my friends. So I think it's kind of an honor code.

Agreed, I think it is in honor that you don't impersonate someone. You know, the same thought crossed my mind a few times, and I always decided that it's not worth it. I don't want to break my honor, hurting others.

I think we all just need to hold our breath. I hope if the impersonator(s) have read our comments, maybe it will make them second guess a few things.

I agree wilth the made up name things on this thread.

The only person I have ever impersonated was myself, beacuse it was summer and I was bored. (Only child)

I have, however, been impersonated, and I absolutely hated it. The thing that really bothered me, however, was that they didnt even try to do a good job as far as grammar and spelling that I would normally use.

What do you mean, impersonated yourself?

Yea that is pretty unnerving. I've never been impersonated that I know of, but I feel so bad for everyone who has been. There's got to be some way to resolve this.
