Mother's Day!

Mother's Day!

What's everybody doing for Mother's Day?

I'm extremely awful (like, reeeeaaaaaalllllly awful) at sentimental things...so I'm going to just give my mom flowers and make muffins for breakfast on Mother's Day! What about everyone else?

That is great! I'm also really awful at sentimental things, haha! My family is going to my grandmother's house, and I'm probably going to make my mom a card. Not sure what else yet...maybe a pie or cookies or something. She knows I love her! :)

I'm writing my mom a short story. It's about this old man who lives in the future, and honey bees are almost extinct. Because of that, there is almost no food.

The guy, however,  lives inside a giant greenhouse filled with plants and bees. He hoards them. That's all I've got so far.

We picked a bunch of flowers, made my mum breakfast in bead, and went out for dinner and a stage show the night before for my mum and my grandmother.

My mom has to work on mother's day, so when she gets home, my dad and I are going to give her a plant, a Starbucks gift card, and a book.

I went a bit more crafty than usual and made two things:

The first was with two glass soda jars (actually flavored water, not soda) and painted them so they are translucent but colorful. One is solid pinkish red, and the other is purple lines wrapping around with clear glass in between the lines. Then I found some of my favorite pictures of our family, printed them out to a good size, and cut them out in little ovals. Then I glued them onto each bottle, about 6 or 7 per one. Oh, and the caps were reverse colors. Purple for the red bottle, red for the purple. :D

The second gift is an Inspirational Quote Jar. Originally I was going to do 365 quotes (one for each day), or even better, 365 pieces, some being quotes, song lyrics, memories, and such, but I ran out of time. So instead I did 150 quotes. I still have to print and cut those out tomorrow then get the jar ready all before my mom wakes up. Ouch, I'll have to get up early.

And that's it! My mom loves reading, quotes, family, and pictures. So I combined all those together in those. I hope she likes them!

We're gonna go eat dinner at my grandparents house, and I'm making a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for everyone (my grandma's favorite kind) and I'll probably make my mom a card...I really wanted to order her a gift online, but I can't now because it won't come on time, so I'm brainstorming things to make her. XD

I made my mom a card (more like a poster, really, but the same sentiment), and we're going to dim sum for lunch with a bunch of our relatives.

I ended up making my mom, my grandma, and my grandma's best friend (who is sorta like another grandma to me) some small jars with flowers in them that I painted pastel colors, and matching tea lights, and cards. I also baked my white chocolate raspberry swirl cheesecake with whipped cream cream cheese raspberry topping which turned out delicious!
