Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
I was flipping
I was flipping through old threads and I came upon this, posted by Nina:A long time ago there was something called the TCCP, which stood for The Cricket Currency Project. Chatterboxers could set up their own "stores" like your store here, and "restaurants" and other Chatterboxers could buy things from the store and eat at the restaurants. There was a bank, a mall, and even a business directory for all of the TCCP businesses.
I think TCCP sounds like a ton of fun, and we should restart it. Anyone with me? If people say they are I'll post my shop.

Mine's more of a stand, but whatever.
Name: Lucy B. Comicbooks
Type of shop: Comics/caricatures/studio
Owener(s): Lucy B.
Assistant(s): Are my AEs allowed?
Appearance (Optional, also can be changed.): the outside is made of pencils, the inside has a pink floor and a gray celing, as is the roof of the outside. Several rooms, but most of them are studio space used by artists. People can buy and sell their own works for a cut of the profit.
Other: Anyone can set up a stand of their own artwork inside my store, I give everyone permission, just don't steal artwork and say it's yours.

Oops! I meant Owners.

I remember when this was around! The link you shared only brought me back to the pages, not the actual thread though. But anyways, I'd love to join! I can actually have my bookstore here, then. Mmm... I am going to call it the "Book Nook" which sells vintage and antique books, plus it has a little baked goods and tea corner, and spots to read to decide whether or not you wish to buy the book.
Wonderful idea to refresh, Impunity Jane!

It did? Weird! I just tried it and it worked. Are you sure you copied the whole link?

Ahh, I just saw Booksy wants to do a bookstore too. Unless it is a problem, can we have two for our town?
Name: The Book Nook
Type of shop: Bookstore
Owner(s): Myself and Quill - we manage the books
Assistant(s): Zeon and Poofball (CAPTCHA) - Zeon runs the bakery and tea stand, Poofball flies up and helps grab books too high for the average person.
Appearance (Optional, also can be changed.): A building shaped like a beautiful antique book that's open. The outside has wonderful gardens maintained by Quill, the inside has wooden floors and large glowing lanterns. Wrapping the walls are floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with vintage and antique books (vintage is 20 years+, antique is 100 years+). In diagonal corners of the room are a set of beanbags and sofas, so the buyer can decide whether or not they enjoy the book before purchasing it. In another corner near checkout is a small counter of baked goods and tea (because most of us are too young for coffee) manned by Zeon. Upstairs is even more bookshelves and seating, with little tables and chairs to eat and look out over the hundreds of books and the town. In the basement - also with wood floors and large lanterns - is a poetry slam/live performance setup. There are numerous small wooden tables and chairs, with a stage platform. This platform is for poetry slams, music performances they made themselves, and small gatherings. That's all for now!
Other: We sell vintage and antique books along with promoting a community, and selling small goods like muffins and tea.

OMG, this sounds Aaww-sooome! Totally doing it! I'll probably open an art/handmade goods shop with a small cafe in it. Or an animal shelter... or both!
(May 3, 2017 - 11:53 am)
I'm definitely in! I'll run a bookstore/library (you can buy and check out books).
(May 3, 2017 - 12:18 pm)
Oops, I didn't read through the other posts! I'm going to start a camping store instead of a bookstore/library.
Name: Roadtripper's Camping Supplies
Type of shop: Camping Store
Owner(s): Moonlight
Assistant(s): None
Appearance (Optional, also can be changed.): The front has a sign in a fun font. In the windows you can see hiking boots, tents, hats, and other camping supplies. Inside there is a very large store with camping, hiking, roadtripping, overnight-camp, etc. supplies.
Other: Nothing much.
P.S. Sorry again for submitting my last post without reading through the other comments!

I'll run a gardening shop!
Name: Early Bird Gardens
Type of shop: Gardening shop (I sell plants of all kinds, gardening tools, pots and stuff, etc.)
Owner(s): Me!
Assistant(s): Someone can help me if they want...
Appearance (Optional, also can be changed.): Many of the plants are outside or in the greenhouse, which is overflowing with every flower and tree and plant imaginable. (Some on racks, some in hanging baskets, some larger plants in pots) There is a medium-sized, airy building with big windows that houses the tools, pots, garden features, etc. that are for sale, as well as carts and the checkout aisles. The whole place is very open and bright. Out front, there are colorful wooden chairs, a trellis, and a large, pastel blue sign that says Early Bird Gardens.
Other: We do our best to do all we can for the earth and make plants (especially trees) affordable. Also, the shop does things like plant raffles, giveaways, and events such as 'paint a pot day' and an Earth Day parade.
(May 3, 2017 - 1:55 pm)
Oooh! This is a really cool idea! I'll try it out. :D Someone should probably have an eatery or restaurant in this town, so my AEs and I'll do that!
Name: The Spanish Galleon (Like 8-Piece? That's what he's named after, a Spanish piece-of-eight.)
Type of shop: On-order restaurant
Owner(s): Clouded Leopard, 8-Piece and MewFour.
Assistant(s): Vixtion is the supplier of all the food the restaurant uses. Truck pulls up every morning. If you call ahead to the place you can get your meal very fast!
Appearance: "On-order? What's that?" you may be asking. Well, since I couldn't decide on one type of dish to serve (and there's not too many people in this town), on-order means that you can come in and order whatever you like! Of course, we deal more in a genra of foods rather than specific dishes, so you could come and say "I'd like Chinese food, and something like soup." Then your order would be taken, and in twenty minutes or so it's ready! As said above, Vixtion - my CAPTCHA - is the supplier of the food, 8-Piece and I are the cooks, and MewFour is the waiter/accountant.
As for the physical appearance of the restaurant, it's a fairly small and cosy-looking place with a black-and-blue swirled paint on it, very triangular and geometric shapes. Inside the tables have a scattering of 2-4 seat tables in the middle, and booths around the edges. There's one long counter at the back of the restaurant, and the kitchen behind that. The entire place has smoky smell to it (not like cigarette smoke, like spices and herbs).
Other: Desserts are also offered! They range from ice cream and gelato to chocolate cake and Italian cannoli. They can be ordered at the end of your meal if you want one.
(May 3, 2017 - 2:33 pm)
Love the idea! You hear that guys?
I heard quite enough, thank you.
Awesome idea, CL!! Quill's just being herself.
We will definitely come check it out when it opens!
(May 6, 2017 - 10:03 am)
Oh. I'll fill it out now.
Name: Random Person's Random Oddities
Type of shop: Odd things, old things, everything, selling.
Owner: Random Person
Assistant(s): Umbra (AE) and Gigi (CAPTCHA)
Appearance: A bit shabby looking. There's a sign hanging from a cloth cover that says Random Person's Random Oddities. The door is an, old, walnut door with an eroded, golden handle. It has one window which is covered with a black and yellow curtain. Hufflepuff colors. It's plaster is peeling and the walls really need a new coat of paint. It's the type of shop that's so tiny and squeezed in so tightly, you hardly notice it. When you do notice it, it looks like a hangout for Slytherins.
Other: We only accept wizarding money. The only thing you can't find here is a bed. Fridays, we sell Weasley's Wheezes products. We only sell those on Fridays. We do have evil artifacts from Borgin & Burkes you might want to keep your hands off.
(May 3, 2017 - 7:34 pm)
Making another shop!
Name: Venus Beauty
Type of shop: Cosmetics, hair/skin products, fragrances, and clothing. (for the CB, I can give tips for makeup and hair and stuff, and draw up outfits)
Owener(s): Me! (again)
Assistant(s): None? If someone wants to help, though, they can.
Appearance (Optional, also can be changed.): Well, my shop's logo is the symbols for Venus (the female symbol) and it's on a sign on the front of the store. The building is white with pink awnings and large windows, which display products and mannequins, and also, a revolving door. Why not? The floors are wooden and there are many racks of all things girly inside.
Other: I made this shop solely because I was not paying attention in Literature today and came up with a jingle. This is it-
"We're all about beauty, we give it away, come and shop at Venus today! V-E-N-U-S! Venus is the best!"
It's stupid, but I don't care.
(May 3, 2017 - 8:43 pm)
Name: Magical Makings (Potions, Magicks, and more)
Type of shop: Witchcraft shop.
Owner(s): Icy
Assistant(s): Just a few hags, witches, wizards, warlocks, sorcerers, necromancers, thaumaturges (like me), pyromancers, and theurgists...
Appearance (Optional, also can be changed.): On the outside, it looks like a creaky old shack with a boarded up door and a faded sign reading "Pot.ns.and...ma.icks". If you choose to step closer, and knock on the one window that isn't boarded up, three times, the window will frost over with a layer of ice magic, then disappear. Step through into an area where cauldrons bubble, green mist fills the air, witches and wizards hurry about, and we take Galleons and Muggle (or NoMaj. I'm American, but personally NoMaj is a mouthful) money. Step up to the large, polished, dark oak counter or ask an experienced witch or wizard for a spell.
Other: We sell spells! Come to get a portal to another world, a spell to charm and enchant a friend, and more! We also make potions, and will be pleased to cook you up a bit of love in a cauldron if you need. We also cast enchantments on items (Random Person, need help enchanting those bludgers?), and have a wide selection of enchantments and spells to cast. Magical Mercenaries are available, but they can be temperamental and make you pay with your soul, so I don't recommend it.
