I get fleeting crushes all the time, like on Aragorn, Remus Lupin, or that one boy in my acting class who turned out to be kinda a jerk.
But then there's one boy I've had a crush on for two years. No one would ever guess that I did, though a while ago one of my friends was pretty sure he liked me.
I think dating at my age is a bad idea, and that crushes are sorta pointless... but it won't go away.
It's strange.

I love how we can just say, "...like Aragorn, Remus Lupin, or..." so casually. This is one of the many, many reasons that I love being he book and movie geek that I am.

Yes! I agree! In fact, I hate having crushes, and purposely avoid them. I think it's a bad idea to get involved in a relationship at a year until age, because it will only result in heartbreak.

Me too! It's really frustrating when you do have a crush, and it won't go away. I don't plan on dating for years, so having a crush just ends up being annoying.

Honestly, all of my friends and I know that crushes are pointless but we still have them, just because that the person nice, and the possibilities of having a crush like you is crazy rare.

I need help.
My friends and I kinda have a crush... square ? See, here how it is: This one guy (guy #1) has a crush on a new (ish) girl (gal #1) and gal #1 has a crush on this other guy (guy #2) and guy #2 kinda has a crush on me...and...you guessed it....I have a crush on guy #1.
Guy #1 and I have been really good friends for years and he knows that I had a crush on him but he doesn't think that I still do.
Gal #1 is really sweet and nice and doesn't know about guy #2 having a crush on me...
Guy #2 is nice too, but he is like way younger then me.
I wish Guy #1 would treat me like a friend again cause now he onlys pays attentions to Gal #1....
I don't KNOW WHAT TO DO! I don't want to hurt any of my friends and I don't want a crush, but I want Guy #1 to treat me like a friend again and Gal #1 will soon enough find out about Guy #2 liking me! Also I'm stuck in the middle of Guy #1 liking Gal #1 cause Gal wants him to stop and guy wants my help to make her like him!

My opinions on crushes- they're so pointless at my age, and it's not like I'll ever get the nerve to do anything about them, but it's so boring to not have one, honestly!
I definitely like boys and have liked boys for my whole life. But I've developed a crush on a girl, too. I had a bit of a crush on Hermione as a kid- like, I thought she was really pretty and stuff- but maybe that is normal.
It's not unusual, Bluebird, for people to admire and feel affection for others of both sexes.

I'm not really one for romance, but I have such a crush on Dodie Clark. She's a musician and she's incredible. I used to say I had crushed, but I don't think I ever really did, I was just going along with my friends, but, at least for now, I'm pretty sure I have a crush on Dodie. Why does my one and only crush have to be someone who is 10 years older than me, has a million subscribers, and lives in another country? I have no chance whatsoever. Oh dear.

I think crushes are pretty unnecessary and drama is ridiculous. My mom encourages me not to get involved with any boy at all, and she does her best to keep me away from boys my age. Since I'm going to a special school for a while this summer, she keeps reminding me to stay away.
But what she doesn't know is that I admire someone who I take a couple classes with. I've been trying to get up the courage to tell her, but it won't come, so I've just been smothering and denying any possible feelings. My (faulty) logic is that if I deny it to myself, I can deny it to others. I've talked to him naturally a couple times (there's a very low chance he likes me. I say whatever pops into my head no matter how weird or random it is, and I am very aware that I don't act like very much like a lady should. For instance, I sat on the table during a group conversation while all the other girls sat at the table. I also run and skip in the halls, plus I'm very clumsy).
I'm not even sure I can call it a crush. It's more like an: I-admire-you-and-want-to-be-your-friend-but-can't-because-you're-a-teenage-boy. We both have similar interests (theater, writing), and he says I even inspired him to attempt a poem and; "it felt so good." I just want to keep having those little snippits of conversation about writing, whatever random stuff I say (like someone I knew who gave up poetry to buy a coffee shop...like, why?) between classes and at school-wide get-togethers, but I know that I really shouldn't.
So I just enjoy all the friends I have that are girls and dream about the day that I'll be old enough to let only one man get close to me. And that's going to be my one-and-only right person. I just don't know who he will be, but hey...a girl can dream about her wedding day first kiss, right?
