How would you guys feel about a Modern Witches RP? (or wizards)
I've seen all these online posts about modern witches, and I really like the idea! I have a plot sort-of worked out- the antagonist is the monstrous personification of pollution, named Smog. (notice i'm using they/them pronouns, because Smog is neither male nor female) They feed on pollutants, mainly carbon emissions from humans. They've been around since the cavemen discovered fire.As the industry grows larger, so does Smog, and they need more and more to "eat"...
But, the witches need the opposite. Their power is linked to the earth, so as it dies, they become less powerful. They've been keeping Smog in check for many years, but with the unbelievable invention of ??? (I'm not sure yet, it has to be something amazing. I was thinking maybe smallish rockets that make space travel like taking a vacation- richer people do it all the time and middle class save up to afford it? How's that?), which is giving off a ton of pollution, it seems like Smog will finally take over (NYC?) for good. (Which will give them access to all the "food" they could want) Also, Smog will finally get to kill the witches, who've been sworn enemies for centuries. Something drastic has to be done to stop Smog, and that's where our charries come in.
The only way to stop them for good would be to make (NYC?) a clean city, right? And the only way to do that would be to create an unlimited source of clean energy, or almost unlimited. So, our charries have to go on a journey (well, they're in the same city the whole time, but still) to find a spell/potion/ something to create this energy source.
I need a setting. It has to be a big city with bad pollution, and probably in America so it's easier for us to write. Any suggestions? (I'd say most likely NYC or Chicago)
This sounds dumb now that I'm rereading it. I guess I need a help with the last part- what would make a clean energy source? I don't know. Would you guys join? Thanks for reading the long post.

Oh goodness. I'm sorry, but, I feel like I need to say this.

WHAT!!?? Okay, again, I'm sorry, but I mean, just, what!? Animals DO have feelings. Animals DO have compassion. They aren't just filthy creatures lying in the dirt and trying to survive all day. They are intelligent beings who we humans don't give enough credit to
I know--I know--Smog is the antagonist, of course they have no heart or compassion. And I'm sure you didn't mean it this way. But, still, that inner animal lover inside me just growled when I read that. It kinda offended me.
I'm aware of how rude this sounds, and I really hope I'm not being to hurtful, but I felt like I needed to mention this. Stand up for what I believe in. Please don't be offended! Your plot idea was very interesting, and, if you make this, though I won't be able to join (I've been having trouble keeping up with my RPs lately), I'm sure lots of people will want in.
Again, I'm so sorry if this sounded rude or mean at all. That is NOT what this post was meant for.
Random fact: I just looked out the window and saw that bluebird that's been perching on my mom's car's side view mirror. It always makes me think of you. Unfortunately, it's been perching there to look at itself in the mirror, thinking its another bird, and making a mess on it by going to the bathroom on it. XD

Oh my goodness, Bluebird, this sounds so cool! I would totally join if you made this RP!
A couple more suggestions for big cities would be San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas...
and I'll think about the clean energy source. I can probably come up with some ideas.
But this sounds awesome! I hope you get enough people to join! Count me in =)

San Francisco or Los Angeles are good settings! I'm not sure about Las Vegas though- I'm just thinking about if we want to have younger charries, do many teens/kids live there? With the gambling and all... I don't know, I've never been farther west than St. Louis.

LA would work, but SF is really not that polluted, just saying. It's a really nice place, and NorCal is a little obsessesed with clean energy (which is great of course) :)

As for the animal part, I can see what you meant and Leeli, as well as everyone else, knows it's fine and you didn't mean it. You such a kind person, you would never say something like that to offend anybody.
Leeli, you're amazing when you stand up for what you think is right. Thats very brave, as well as being kind and thoughtful at the same time. Don't ever change!

This is a great idea, I would participate in this if it was made. As for the most polluted city, I looked it up and I think the most polluted city in the U.S. is Los Angeles, Long Beach California. As for clean energy source, at first I was thinking something that feeds off of natural magic in plants and animals, but then I realized that sounds like a parasite, and if the witches tried to install that, people would complain. Ummmm... wind power? Captcha and spellcheck combined said turf. Maybe if the city is seaside, then waave powered?

That sounds super cool!! Maybe you could add everyone is linked to one element and they could combine powers somehow to clean it up, or literal like they have to figure out wind turbines and solar power, etc. I know you said America, but a city in India would be really cool...
