Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
At twelve o'clock midnight, Dain walked into Lee’s room, a bag of candy in his hands. Cassia would murder him if she knew he was giving Lee this much sugar this late at night, but he didn’t care. He wanted to play with Lee! He expected to see the sweet little girl curled up, as always, clutching a stuffed animal.
“Lee!” he whispered. No response. He threw back her covers.
Lee was missing.
“CASSIA!” Abandoning all caution, he yelled for his older sister. Grumpily, Cassia stumbled in.
“Why are you--” she started to snap, but then her eyes widened. “Where’s Lee?”
“I don’t know,” Dain was trying not to panic. He mentally went through the evening, Cassia reading Lee a book, and then her brushing her teeth, climbing into bed. Nothing extraordinary.
“She wasn’t kidnapped,” Cassia looked down. “Her shoes are gone. She walked out.”
“What lured her outside?”
“Another AE?”
“But who?”
“What should we do?”
“Should we find help? Go look for her?”
Cassia sat down on the bed, her usually-engaged face looking scared and dejected. “Someone help us,” she whispered. “Lee, why did you go? Why didn’t you tell us?”

he leans over me. where is lee? "No need to be worried," he says, 'I just brought you here to have... ah... a friendly conversation. What's your name?" he was not going to get me that quick. i knew names had power. so much, that no one knew my real name. i answer with my false name, the one everyone knows me by. "cloud," i reply.
"How old are you, Cloud?" he says with a charm tinging his voice.Answer me... i hear in my brain.

i am 64 million years old, i was born when man first started appearing on the earth. My name is not cloud. It is... No one could hear the word cloud uttered execept the man. He ran out of the chamber, into the night. now.. where's lee? i see lee as i round a bend. "I heard your true name!" Lee yells. "you're evil!" i gasp. "lee... you know me! i'm not evil!" Lee pondered that. How well did she know cloud? She was always just the reclisive older kid in the background. Lee didn't even know anything about her. She realised she had been under a charm, but by which AE, she couldn't tell. Lee decided it was cloud. She screamed for help."Cassia! Dain! Help! cloud kidnapped me!!!!" cloud ran away into the darkness.

It was past midnight when a glowing purple envelope popped out of thin air and floated slowly down onto Sam's bedside table, where it promptly exploded into a cloud of dust. Needless to say, Sam awoke very quickly, thinking: "I've got to fix my Instant Messaging system." Let's just say his magical abilities were not quite...developed yet.
"Sam," Cassia's voice floated out of the glittery cloud of dust, "I'm so sorry to call so late, but Lee is missing! Is now a good time to take you up on that Pegasus ride offer?"
Instantly, Sam was wide awake. Conjuring a new peice of stationary and a quill that wasn't broken yet, he began to draft his reply. Lee is missing... His heart pounded. Could evil have finally slipped into the Alter Ego Kingdom?
Briefly, Sam considered calling Wildflower's log cabin, but decided against it. He would do this on his own. Hastily conjuring a candle (and nearly setting his hair on fire), Sam searched his castle room for his favorite sky blue tunic. Upon finding it, he hurriedly dressed and flattened down his hair with the back of his hand. He started to dash from his bedroom, but stopped and turned back. In a corner, against the wall, the sword he had received from his adventure in the AE hotel several months ago caught the dim candlelight.
He hesitated.
Uncertain shadows flitted across the wall.
The sword clanked against a chest holding an unfinished new bridle for Windwhistle.
And Sam sprinted to Windwhistle's castle tower.

Deep in the forest of the AE world, a log cabin lay snuggled amidst the shadowy trees. It was illuminated, as always, by a dim, warm glow from Wildflower's lamp, which flickered pleasantly like a tired candle. Wildflower herself lay sprawled over the cushions of her large, sunny-yellow couch. Her frizzy blonde curls trailed over her shoulders, and the grey apron covering most of her pale purple dress was very wrinkled. If Wildflower could have seen herself asleep, she would have wrinkled her nose in disgust at her appearence, but someone else (probably Rose bud), would have thought she looked very pretty without her usual disgruntled expression. Outside, a shadow passed by the window, but it was gone in a flash...

Darkness fell over the Inktail household as CBer, CAPTCHA'S and AEs alike went to bed. Riverstone and Meadowpelt slept as sound as a rock, Temuri snored and Inktail sat, reading under the covers. A shadow passed through the house. Riverstone squealed. Flowerpelt, who slept in the same room, sat bolt upright. Inktail cocked her head to one side. Temuri snored on.
Flowerpelt covered her mouth with her hands and let out a muffled scream. Inktail let out of bed and ran into the room. Temuri snored on. Inktail screamed fully before sinking onto Riverstone's bed. Temuri snored on. Meadowpelt wept.
Riverstone was gone.
Your gonna pay, Fudimo. I swear...
Calm, Meadowpelt.
Wait, what hpnd?
