Hi, I'm new.

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Hi, I'm new.

Hi, I'm new. I found the chatterbox this morning and it looks amazing. Everyone here looks really fun and cool. I love musical theatre, soccer and books. My favourite musicals are Wicked, Matilda and the Lion King. Does anyone else like them? I live in Tasmania, which is an island that's part of Australia. Does anyone else live here?

I saw a few of the threads and the look really awesome so far. Heres my AE:

Name: Ruby

Age: 13

Personality: Sarcastic, annoying and has a tendency to sulk. Do not! *sniff sniff*

Speaks in: Bold

Crushes: none....yet

All of you guys look really awesome and I can't wait to get to know you.

Ps. I saw someone's AE in Down to Earth, but what are the other terms like CAPTCHAs, RPs and SIs? Thank you so much everyone!

Captcha is the name for the code you're asked to type before submitting a comment.

RP stands for role play, a story in which each author writes from the point of view of one of the characters.

SI is Secret Identity, a thread where people post under a different name and people try to guess who they really are.

Hello, BooksyBear and welcome to the CB! Books are awesome, what are some of your favorite books? And I've never seen any musicals (sadly), so I don't know. As for living in Tasmania, I don't, but I have a good online friend who lives somewhere in Australia. You're AE seems really cool, too!

To give you the basic rundown, adding to what the Admin said, CAPTCHAs are also characters we make up that don't usually talk in proper English. They usually speak the code that you must enter for comments, or jumbled language. It's odd to explain, but they are like a simpler version of an AE.

I really recommend checking out the Ultimate CB Guide thread on Chirp at Cricket. It's called something like that. The thread gives you a huge rundown of everything Chatterbox-related, and the comments really add a ton more.

I'm glad you're here, and I can't wait to get to know you as well!

Thanks so much, Ash (can I call you that?) I can't wait to get to know you. As for my favourite books.....I could just keep on listing forever. I like Harry Potter, all Rick Riordans books and How to Train your Dragon.

You're welcome, and sure, you can call me that! I love books as well, and my list is seemingly endless. Surprisingly, both Harry Potter and Rick Riordan books are some of my favorites too. I've never read How to Train your Dragon, but i love the movie for it. I also love reading The Secret Garden, Diary of Ann Frank, Gone series, Unwind series, and things like that. Usually Sci-fi, but other genres are great too.

Welcome to the chatterbox.

How to Train your Dragon rocks! I love those books so much. I was so sad when I finished the last one. Have you seen the movies? Normally I don't like movies of books, but I do like the HTTYD movies because they're inspired by, not based off, the books. I like watching the movies and thinking oh I know where they got that idea from!.

If you're still not sure what RPs, SIs, and things like that are, I would try to find them. I think that would help to clear things up.

I've seen the movies, and I think they're good, but I loooove the books.

Welcome, BooksyBear! I love your name. I saw some of your threads already. You just dove straight into the CB even though your new. It's so cool that you live in Australia! BookBug did, but they just left as you joined! Are there really all those cool animals in Australia? Your so cool!

That's super cool! I've heard of Tasmania (mainly because of the Tasmanian Devil in Looney Tunes) but I don't know anybody who lives there. I love to read as well, and enjoy musicals of all sorts. I play soccer during recess, I guess, but not as an actual sport. I do play basketball, volleyball, and softball, though. Do people play softball in Australia?

Welcome, BooksyBear, we're glad to have you here!

Awesome to meet you, BlueBird. I don't think people really play softball very much in Australia. Sometimes for a hobby, yes, but it's not very well-known here.

Hi, Booksy Bear! I'm Moonlight! I was previously know as CNN Reporter, Jack-a-Nat, and my real name, Natalie. I'm obsessed with the Inheritance Cycle (hence the location). I found the Ultimate Guide for you in case you need help from it and can't find it. Just saying, it is from way back in March 2016, but nothing is really that new. From time to time CBers add things to the comments, like wars, etc. (not real wars).

One definition that isn't very clear in the comments:

Top: If a thread isn't on the first page, people will say 'top' to bring it to the top. The actual way that threads get to the top is when there is a lot of activity on it.
