I am getting rid of my AEs, and seriously considering leaving. I have thought about this, and I would like everyone to know this.

I heard about the controversy and I'm sorry that it happened. But there is definitely a clear argument...especially since I am strongly against the whole thing. Sometimes I close my eyes and wish all the arguments and quarrels and controversies in the world would just disappear. Then I open them. One of my brothers yells at me. I retaliate. Several scratches and bruises later, I wonder what the heck I was just thinking about...this happens several times a day :)

I have not voiced my opinion on the whole DJ Bowtie discussion yet but it is fine by me if there is a (gay? transgender? not sure what to call it...) AE. You are totally right to write him however you want but i understand why some CBers might be uncomfortable with it. I have actually been considering making an AE like that for a while, though i still havent decided.

The most important thing here is:
DJ IS GARED'S AE AND GARED SHOULD CHOOSE HOW TO WRITE HIM. DEAL WITH IT.
On the debate itself, all I will say is that I see zero valid reason to not allow DJ to have a boyfriend if Gared so chooses. Besides, it's a nice piece of diversity and there's already a transgender AE.

Actually, Gared, you've inspired me by having DJ Bowtie be... hmm not sure what to call it. Anyway, I feel in my heart that my AE, Sriracha has a crush on Nova. When I first decided that, people were upset, but seeing what you've done, I think Sriracha will like Nova again. It doesn't mean Nova will have to like her back, but... we'll see what happens with that.
