Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO! WHERE DID SOME OF THE BUGGIES GO!?!?!?!?!?!
I was at the meet the buggies thingie and I noticed the profound absence of the following buggies/ inhabitants of Cricket Country: Weenie, Silvery, Jim, Jim's mom, and the buggie who always used to play the lute or somthing of that sort at the begginning of the mag. WHERE DID THEY ALL GO!?!?! AAARRGGHH!!! NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Excuse my multiple outbursts.
A few buggies have been featured more or less over the many years of Cricket. We buggies have had adventures all over the world and have made many friends that do not regularly appear in Cricket Country.

Silvery was the mermaid, right? I liked her a lot. She was great. I miss you, Silvery!

The chirp at cricket section looks way out of shape to me...It is really long and falling off the screen.

Yeah, on my computer too.

It's doing that for me on my iPod and my pc and my mac, so it must be some kind of bug in the system!

I've also seen picture of other buggies, like these ants, a misquito thingy, one of those bugs that roll up, a little bug that looks like a mini version of Cricket, another mini Cricket, and a bunch more!!!! It's sort of sad! :(:(

Uh, Paige? The little bug that rolls up wouldn't happen to be a pill bug, would it?
:)

Oh, is that what they're called?? Thanks!! :):) Clay and I always used to call them rolly-pollies! :D Woah, that just reminded me of that really weird old TV show Rolly Polly Ollie... Ugh... :)
(May 13, 2009 - 3:46 pm)
Oh, yah, well, that's the unofficial name for them. :D (I often call them that too)
I always thought to little sister in Rolly Polly Ollie was cute. ;D
(May 16, 2009 - 11:50 pm)
I used to watch that! I probably only remember it because we used to sing "Rolly Polly Ollie" To the tune of the hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy". :P

Yes, I understand that the Pixies or Granny Gronk might not be featured in meet everybuggy, but there are bugs that LIVE in Cricket County that aren't being featured. The Aunts. Sarah and Phillip. Weenie. Prof. Anno. Crystal and... Charlie(? is that his name?). Mrs. Spider Librarian who, for the moment, I can't remember the name of. Ms. Mss and Elvis, who you took away a LONG time ago! And many more!
So what is the real reason? Please tell. Please?
The bugs that are regularly featured have changed occasionally during the 37 years of the magazine, e.g., Ms. Mss and Elvis, and a few others. A couple years ago, the format of Cricket Country changed to include more panels and back-and-forth dialogue between bugs, rather than just great big long scenes, as it had been before. The bugs now also make appearances in the Letterbox and comment more on the stories in the margins. With the change in format, featuring quite so many bugs every time was not really manageable. All those buggies couldn't take part in the fun without Cricket Country becoming a crowded mess. If you know Muse magazine, there are just 9 Muses, not all of which appear in every issue. Just like in real life, the circle of close friends changes from time to time, but good buggy friends are never forgotten and who knows what the future will bring.

Oh, ok, Admin!! :):) Thanks!!! Just promise NEVER to get rid of Ladybug, Pussywillow, or Muffin!!!! (any of the other buggies would be a tradgedy, too, but those ones are my favorites!)
