Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Admins, is there

Admins, is there any system for removing old threads? There are some where the last comment was thirty-some weeks ago! Is there a weeding system? It seems like the Chatterbox will get really cluttered soon....

Not that I know of, at least not yet, Emily. One of the advantages of the Internet is that there is infinite space for posting. However, I'm passing your comment on to our Webmaster.

I sort of like having the old threads here.

I think that deleting threads when the last comment reaches something like fifty weeks ago would be good. I, too, like reading old threads, but if you've noticed, we go around and around on the same topics alot. So I think it would be better if the webmaster people weeded out some of the really old ones.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

DON'T GET RID OF OLD THREADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should make an archive. You know, a different page where we can read them, but not necceserilly post in them!!! Please consider it Admin!!!!

I often check back on old threads to research stuff!!!!

Thanks!!

I agree with Laura.  Deleting old threads means losing a lot of information about everyone.  I think there should be an archive where we don't comment on them, but still view them.  I like old threads. :)

Some of them, yes, but some are totally useless and take forever to shift through, looking for the one you want. Like Hi, I'm new! threads where the person dissapeared several months ago.

Thanks, Admins. It's just that with the whole wierd thing with where threads go, it's kind of confusing to have a half-a-year-old thread thrown in while you're looking for it.

Well, the Chatterbox has only been open for about ten months, so not a year and a half. ;) :):):)

Well, personally, I'd like it if we kept the old threads, because sometimes we like to go back and read them (like for clues on missing people, or just for fun!).  It'd be sad to get rid of them!!! (especially for us oldtimers, because we know on which thread we met certain people, and stuff like that!)

I agree with Paige, even though I'm techincally not an old-timer. The old threads are fun! :)

I guess you're a half-way old timer. :):) You've been here for about four or five months, right?? :):)

:) I sent out my first post January 15. It got posted on January 16. So I guess it's going on five months!!! :)

Wow, you remember the exact date!!?!!  I can barely remember what month I started in (July, August?!)!!! :):):):) It seems soooo long ago, but really, it wasn't that loong!! :D

Actually, I wrote it in my journal that my mom said I could go on the Chatterbox. I was ecstatic -- I'd been reading the posts for a while, but I'd never actually posted myself! :) That was the same date I got my ears pierced...so yeah, it's pretty memorable for me.
