First of all, I'm writing this on the CaC simply because there seem to be a might too many comments on the DtE. I just don't want to bump more active threads onto the second page.
But what I really want to say is stuff I haven't really been saying on Brook's thread (and what I have been saying there hasn't helped anyone in the slightest, tbh, so I should probably stop talking for the sake of talking). I think things are going a little topsy-turvy. I sense a tip on the edge of the CB Scale of Peace.
AKA, I sense that if we don't agree on something very soon, there may be another "War."
You have to admit there's an oncoming storm. There's a lot of confusion on Brook's thread, and a bit of agression (although I'm not pointing fingers). Now Abi's gotten rid of Critic, Hobbes, and Mandy, which I'm pretty sure none of us (including her) wanted. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but my radar's going crazy.
Therefore, here's this thread.
NUMBER ONE RULE, before I get started. THERE WILL BE NO NAME-CALLING, NO AGRESSIVE WORDS (ie "stupid," "dumb," or "rude"), AND NO ARGUEMENTS! This is a diplomatic thread. I don't want any agressiveness going on, because that just makes things worse.
I want this to be the thread that usually resolves a war: a discussion thread. Obviously a lot of people aren't happy with Brook's "3+" rule. But a lot of people seem to agree with the "no 'stereotype AEs'" rule. Here's an opportunity to discuss-- in a civilized manner-- exactly what we think these "AE Rules" should be. I don't want another war, and I don't think any of you do, either. If we can come to an agreement before this spirals out of control, we won't have one.
So, please! Speak. Tell us exactly what you think, but word it POLITELY. If you disagree with someone's opinion, you may talk with them about it, but POLITELY. As I say, this is diplomatic.
What are your opinions on this matter? Here are a few questions, if you aren't sure what to say:
1. Do you agree that we should only have two or less AEs? If so, why? If not, what should be the limit, if any?
2. What is your opinion on stereotype AEs? How do you think we can change this?
3. Do you agree with Masked Piester's AE Criteria? (you can find it here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/chirpatcricket/node/232879?page... )
4. Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Again, the questions are completely optional, and just there to help you out.
So. . . conclusions! Please speak your opinions in a civilized manner. It doesn't matter if you just don't want a 3+ limit but you don't have another idea, or that's the only thing you've thought of-- speak! Every opinion counts. I like to think of the CB as a great big democracy, or maybe some sort of council, and this is a state of emergency.

Most people are saying two should be the limit. I want to know what's going to happen to my AEs, huh? I am not killing any more of them off.
Heck no. If this comes into affect, I'm leaving.
I killed Blizzard off because he was a boring, typical, stereotype AE.
Elsa and Thorn are very non-stereotypical. Pinkie is a little, but I love her and enjoy writing her stuff.
So I say, three max. Having five or six is crazy. You can make three different fonts. Now all your AEs have an accent. *gasps sarcastically* I'm a genius!

I hate it when AEs are all the same. Like all the candy AEs. If they enjoy a certain, specific candy, then they're unique! It's science!

Yes. I think we should maybe have a survey and see if any AEs have actually made anyone smile/laugh. (Yeah, Dev and Father are totally safe.) I will say, my AEs are safe in all other aspects.

Yes. I'm so mad right now, I'm going off to kill one of my AEs. Whoopee.

*Gasps* Wait, WHAT?!?!?! No!! Cho, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't kill off any of your AE's!!!! I think all of them are great and fantastically created!!!! You've already killed off Blizzard, *sniff* He will be missed. . . So you just CAN'T kill off any of them!!! If you kill off Elsa, who's going to be Puck's friend? And if you kill off Thorn, who's going to be in love with Ms. Elton? And if you kill off Pinkie PIEper, who's going to run around the CB yelling: "All cakes are pies?" ;) She always makes me laugh. I love all of your AE's Cho. So, I'm begging you again, *Falls on my knees dramatically* Please, please, PLEASE!!!! Do not kill of any of your AE's.

*smiles sadly* Thanks, Joan. I'm glad they've made at least one person laugh. (Well, Blizzard wasn't fantastic, but I do miss him.)

I am Cockleburr. Sometimes, I don't know how you guys will react to something I wrote, and I really did not want to be pulled into a war that I have really no opinions about, exept that it should stop. I have no AEs, so it truly doesn't matter to me whether everyone has two, three, twenty, or fifty thousand AEs. But like I said earlier, I love you guys so much and it hurts me so deeply to watch you fight. I am so proud of you for working together to find a solution. You guys are amazing writers and thinkers and I know you can find an answer.

The limit should be three?

I think it's a bad idea to ban 'stereotype AEs' because everyone has a different definition of 'stereotype' so that will result in a lot of bad arguing. Because one should make a rule that is not solid, meaning not easily defined.

I don't get what B is...can someone explain that to me?
And I get A, but don't get it. Aren't AEs just made for the fun of it? And not with a purpose of 'benefitting the community'?
I can't agree to these terms because one I don't get what it means, and I don't "get get" the other.

I might as well do this. Kinda glad you said no arguing, because I'm kinda just letting it all out.
1.Three AE limit. I would much rather two, but I'm not sure that'll happen. Also, it's hard to make AEs unique and creative after Three.
2. I do think there are some stereotype AEs out there: The crazy ones are the ones I'm mainly talking about.
3. Yup. And... Nevermind, that would be rude.
4. PLEASE try to make sure all AEs are included! That's literally the only thing I'm worried about. I'm getting stressed out about this because no one really ever sees my AEs... Sorry if it sounds selfish or dramatic.
