I have two questions for the buggies:

Ladybug,

Is it really true that you can tell a ladybug's age by counting the number of spots on its back?

 

Cricket,

One of my favorite parts of the magazine is favorite first lines, but I haven't seen it in any of the recent issues. Do you know when there will be another one?

Allison, the number of spots on a Ladybug have nothing to do with its age. We ladybugs would never be so obfvious! We just have different numbers of spots like human beans may have different colors of hair.

Favorite first sentences forms one of the awesomest parts of Cricket. To read the randomness of a hodgepodge of books and writing styles thrown together is, since I'm into randomness, one of the funnest parts.

Yah, I had been wondering about Favorite First Sentences, too.

 I once sent in the first line from Howl's Moving Castle, but I got a postcard saying that Ladybug thinks I'm stellar!!  :)   (and that they didn't put it in)

We're sorry we don't have room to print all the Favorite First Sentences we receive, Laura. But we should do Howl's Moving Castle sometime because some of you are really enthusiastic about it. I think it's great that one of you started an FFS thread with infinite space to add to those we can publish in the magazine!
