Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
This is rather
This is rather random, but I just decided to post it anyway!!! :D:D
My dad and I went to the animal shelter today!!! First we went to the cat room, which had TONS of kitties (sad…). They had four kittens that were eight weeks old!!! It was sad, but they were SOOO cute!!!! There was this one kitty who was missing lots of fur on her head, but she was still really cute!!! J As soon as she saw me, she began purring and rubbing against the side of the cage (I wasn’t allowed to pet her, though). She had HUGE eyes!!! Hee hee! A cute kitty named, ummm, I forgot his name; it may have been Jefferson. Anyway, he took Alice’s cage. Very cute kitty! There was this eight month old kitten, who, I’m sure must have had a magnet attached to the end of his nose (and to my finger)! I put my finger against the edge of the glass, then quickly slid it across to the other end. He followed it, and tried to attack my finger! He was SO cute!!!!!! Then, we went into the section where you can walk into the cat cages. I went into an “exhibit” with three cats, all of whom were black. They were VERY happy to be petted. In that room, they had a parakeet cage (DUMB IDEA!) with two parakeets. My mom wanted me to check to see if they had a parakeet for Buddi, because I’m still not sure if I want that other one I might get that looks just like her and has my dad’s name (I’ll explain if you want). Anyway, we aren’t going to get these two, because it’s two, and we can’t separate them, so yeah… Then we went into the dog room, which was very nice, because most of the dogs have been adopted!!! There were only about seven or eight, which is WAY less than usual!! Let’s see…. They had a basset hound thingy, a pit bull, a surprisingly sweet Rottweiler, a lab/pit bull, a cute little shepherd thingy, a pit bull, a weird little brown dog (that was cute!), and a pit bull. I liked, well, all the dogs, but especially the basset hound thingy and the shepherd thingy. Oh! We looked at the rodents, too, which was several gerbils and some baby mice!! The gerbils were SOOO cute, and one of them looked like Sprite (my old gerbil)!!! Hee hee!!
Sorry there's no smileys really on that!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D -smileys to make up for it
Anyway, I was thinking, the animal shelter is pretty cool for all that they do, because, I mean, without them, there'd be thousands of abandonded animals every year!!! :(:( Sooo, I think I'm going to try to figure out ways to raise money for them. :):):)
Sorry that was SOOO random!!! :D:D

Cool! :) I just think Down to Earth is a better place for randomness.

That's cool! But isn't it sad how most of the dogs that get dumped are pit bulls? *sniffle*

I know!!!! It's SO sad!!!! :(:(:( And most people look at them and go, "Eww... A pit bull!! They're mean!!! Let's not adopt them!!!!".... :(:(:( It's SO sad!! I just wish that I could adopt them!!! :(:(:( I don't think that the cat would appreciate it too much, though.....

*sniffle* Poor puppies . . . Er, pit bulls . . . :( They aren't bad. They just have a bad reputation. :(
(April 5, 2009 - 5:38 pm)
Yeah, I know!!!!! They actually tend to be the sweeter dogs there!!! Like once, this lab mix tried to kill me there!!!! Thank you, animal shelter, for chain-link fences!!! :)

OH!!!!!!!!!!! Just for fun, I searched "cats" in Petfinders, and I suddenly realized that there are a TON of cats at my animal shelter!!!!!!!!!!!! Search "cats", and, for the zip code, type in "04038". Look at all the cats listed under the Westbrook Animal Refuge League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I counted about 85!!!!!!!! :(:(:(:(:(:( This is just awful!!!!! :(:(:( [On the first page on the search, you'll see the cat named Jefferson; he was ADORABLE ((and talkative!)). And on the second page, you'll see the cat named Mufasa; he lived up to his name very well ((he was very king-like, all saked-out, spreading his whole body against the side of the cage)).]

I checked it. Why would anyone want to dump all those kitties!? :(:(
(April 7, 2009 - 11:49 am)
Did you see Jefferson??? Isn't he about the cutest cat in the world??? I can't even imagine dumping him!!!!!! [of course, it could have been a reason like me and Alice or something...]

How about all those unwanted horses?
