Ask Admins
Just a place to consolidate asks to admins so we don't clog Inkwell and other very active places. If you know the answer to a question you can answer it!
Admins, do you know where Indigo's Hidden Lands RP went? She posted it this morning but I haven't seen it.
We haven't posted it yet. We need to know if she created the art in it. We can only post original art by the person submitting it, not copied from someplace. Then we need to check out the title. Is it associated with a singing group that has online videos? Are the characters she mentions her original creation? Or copied from another story? If she would send another question answering these questions, we may reach our decision sooner.

Hey Admin, what if somebody posts and they put down thier name as "Admin"? What would you do?
The comment wouldn't get posted. Anything from Admin should be from one of us and we'd each post our own comment. We've been instructed not to post comments from other Admins.

Hi Admin(s)!
How are you guys? I'm just wondering... you guys do everything on this site and go through countless picturings of us, but we don't know too much about you. This is what I know off the top of my head:
-one of you is half black
-there are both male and female admins (this sounds like you're a separate species, weirdly)
-the blue moon ice cream awesomeness
-all are based in IL, at least one out of Chicago
But... how do you work as editors? How did you become editors? I'd love to get to know you guys better!
(I'm sounding like a creeper right now. I assure you it is because it's 11:21 my time and 1:21 yours. But you welcome us when we come back and add all sorts of fun stuff to this website and I really do want to get to know you better!)
Wow, you're good to remember the blue moon ice cream! I do most of my editorial work via computer. I've always loved books and reading, good classic stories and poetry. My mother and several aunts and great aunts were librarians. My mother always read to my sisters and me before bed.

Admins, I made a couple of posts on the "picutring CBers with avatars" thread. They haven't been posted yet, but some comments from after the time I made them appeared on the same thread. Is there an issue in posting them? Please tell me if I did something wrong so I can resubmit them properly.
The art itself isn't showing in the comment. We only see the link. I don't have time to check each link before posting it. Someone else who doesn't work on the weekend has that job. So they may be checked and posted sometime on Monday, but we're all busy so I can't promise.
If you can figure out how to include the art itself on your comment page (via the My Art/Photo section of the submitting screen), then we can see the art itself right away and post it sooner. That saves us a lot of time when you send so many.

Hey admins! How does one get to be an admin? And how many posts do you each read every day? Is it a full time job? Is it fun or boring?
We all were hired by Cricket Media for various editorial duties. Administrating Chatterbox is just one of the things we do. How many posts? Too many to count! It varies. Maybe a couple hundred or more on a busy day. Reading comments is fun, never boring. No two days are the same! Never a dull moment.

Sorry for bothering again, Admins, but is there something wrong with the last photo set submitted to the avatar thread? I can change and fix things if there are any problems.
I'm posting in order right now. I don't see any unposted comments older than this one, so I'm not sure what you're missing. I remember posting one of yours with a whole lot of pictures. Then someone else was on duty today. I'll finish posting all that's waiting right now. Maybe it will turn up. Look on a back page or do a google search
site:cricketmagkids.com text you want to find

@Admin: Hmm. Maybe I didn't click Send last night or something. I'll wait and see if it arrives, then if not, I'll repost it.
I haven't seen it yet. I'm almost thru the list.

Hey Admins! This is more of a suggestion than a question, or even more, a request rather than a suggestion, but why doesn't the Chatterbox have a search bar? It would be a lot easier for people to find posts. (In my opinion.)
We think that a search bar would be really useful too. The designers haven't gotten to installing one, but hopefully someday! For now, you can search this way:
site:cricketmagkids.com THREAD TITLE
Replace "Thread Title" with the title of your thread and don't forget to leave a space beween cricketmagkids.com and your search. You can put it right into your browser bar or google.

Admins: Say I had something of mine-- a pet or a shirt or an item or something. If this hypothetical object didn't give away anything about me or my whereabouts, but still belonged to me, would I be allowed to post a photograph of it?
Yes, that should be fine.

Hi admins! I made a post on Inkwell, but after half a day, it still has not shown up. I'm wondering, have you just not gotten to it yet, or am I not allowed to post things like that? (And if so, why not?) My post was the VYRSFS store one.
I don't remember seeing anything with VYRSFS store in it today. If it hasn't appeared yet, please send it again.

Hi Admins!
So, I was wondering if would be okay for a thread about race to be created; for example, a thread about CBers who are Asian?
If you'd like to, you may. We can't promise that other non-Asian CBers will participate though. We hope that other CBers will be respectful and we'll be extra careful to make sure that they are. ~Admins
(March 13, 2016 - 8:19 pm)
Thanks for the support for the thread! The CB seems to be trending towards more politics, race, and religious topics so helping to keep these controversial issues within the appropriateness of the CB is a big job that I'd be super scared of; you're awesome at this!
You're welcome. Most of the comments that have been submiited have been thoughtful and respectful. We're pleased to be able to provide a place where important current topics can be reasonably discussed.

Hey Admins, do you always read every single post that every single CB'er posts?
And how do you become an Admin?
We do read every single one! There are three of us who check, usually. You become an Admin by working for Cricket Media in the editorial department. We work on the magazines too! :) ~Admin

Forgive me if you've already answered this or if it's really obvious or something, but does CAPTCHA stand for something? If so, what?
It stands for: Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart

How many of you are there? Three right? Isn't there a day one, a night one, and a substistue?
For some reason, I still imagine a huge database with about twenty intellectual-looking people with headsets, sitting at computers. They are focused and rapidly typing on computers.
More frequently, however, I imagine the Admins as a group of about ten people sitting in a room with three or four laptops on the table, laughing, drinking coffee, and discussing poetry, sometimes huddling around one computer, laughing at a post or discussing this. "Ooh, someone started up a political debate thread. Gotta keep on our feet with these!" or "Wow, these kids ar amazing! Look at that amazing poem interpretation/amazing RP!" Sometimes they will all be working silently at their computers, when suddenly somebody says "Hey, over here guys" and they all huddle arolund one computer. Usually this is in the case of "Hey, look at how they drew me on this anime charrie thread!", and the reactions are "Looks like me!" or "looks nothing like me. But I do appreciate the blue eys!" etc, etc.
Yes, three. One generally covers business hours and one evenings and weekends. The third helps cover vacation or other time away. Your imagined quotes are spot on! Only one of us posts comments at a time, but we do sometimes call each other's attention to remarkable comments or drawings. We love you all!
