I absolutely love Cricket! Even though I only read two issues, it inspires me in many ways! I only have one hand because my growth plate fell off when I was born. It really makes me feel like an outsider, but reading Cricket makes me feel like I'm part of a community! Reading every one of your stories, articles, and comics inspires me to write. I want to be a writer when I grow up. Along with writing, I like to play soccer, READ, and be with my friends. I love reading Cricket Country; it is the best magazine comic ever!!! I also like the story "Bully" from the January 2016 issue. George is my favorite buggy because he finally breaks the stereotype about worms! They are not so dirty after all. Well, maybe a little. I also like Ladybug because she reminds me of myself, confident and smart. If Pussywillow ever comes to NYC, tell her not to go to my house. There is a dog and a mean cat here!

Welcome! I enjoy Cricket perhaps as much as you do, however, I prefer fantasy to realistic fiction. Some basics of the Chatterbox:
We call the Chatterbox the CB.
Roleplays are RPs.
Round Robins (RRs) are when a person begins the story, and, using the same characters, but adding events, others continue it.
OCC means "out of character".
Power-playing is. . . . I don't know.
A ski lodge is a murder mystery that CBers participate in, each one getting killed until the murderer is revealed.
An SI is a secret identity game.
CAPTCHAs are the image code that prevents automated spam submissions. Many CBers name theirs, mine is named Eo-Lahallia (Hallia). We try to interpret the CAPTCHAs, and get very excited if one is a real word.
AEs are alter egos, basically a character that you create that is often insane and resembles your "bad side", or simply "other, unknown" side. Mine is a pile of fluff and stuff named Russet that randomly recites quotes from books and movies.

A couple more things:
"Top" is what someone says when they want to bring a certain thread to the front page of a forum.
The Admins (Administrators) look over each post (a grueling, tiring job, I presume) before posting it publicly. They occasionally leave notes at the end of a CBer's post, answering questions or some other thing. This is why posts are not immediately viewable. The CB is safer and more secure that way.
Not grueling and tiring at all. Fun and often inspirational!

Hi Hannah E! Welcome to the Chatterbox! Scylla just posted a lot of things to help you navigate the CB, but if I find one of the CB guides that were posted a while ago, I'll post a link to it. I hope you like it here and get to know everyone quickly. I have been here for almost exactly 8 months, and I have been getting Cricket for over 2 years, I think, and it's awesome! George (and Tail) are my favorite buggies too!
