Allow me to explain Crowd-Sorcery.
The Editors put an ad in a Cricket issue for a story. The story was crowd-sourced, which meant people other than the author enter character forms for various positions- hero, heroine, villain, sidekick, etc. There was even a fantasy dictionary that people created words for. Then some people (The Editors, probably) look over all the submitted forms for one spot and judge one to be that position in the story when it's written. It was written in installations in several Cricket issues. Brookeira won the villain contest. I don't know who won the other ones.

There sort of is a new crowd sorcery. It's called Kyngdom. It's kinda complicated so I can't explain it all now. But definitely hop over there to check it out.
