School Schedules
~}{}{}{~
This is where you post your schedule and (optionally) complain or be happy about it. Here's mine:
8:05 First Period- Science. This is okay, everyone's a bit sleepy though. I feel like we don't get enough done.
9:06 Second Period- P.E. I thought this was good, usually mornings are cooler, but I was wrong. I almost died from being in direct sunlight six times too many. It's fine if we're on the lower fields though.
10:02? Third Period- Intermediate Orchestra. AWESOME! This could easily be my favorite period of the day.
11:00 Fourth Period- Sm English. Eh. Could be better. I have an amazing class, we move pretty fast, but my teacher is the stuff of nightmares. Gives light homework, but gosh that stare is intense. And her makeup's all messed up. Not like I care or anything.
11:55 Lunch- Lound, noisy. I usually retreat to the library after eating.
12:30 Advisory/Academic Prep- Nothing special; Taught by the same teacher that I have for P.E. I want to be in Journalism, like my sister, but I was too late. I think I'll sign up for it next year.
1:04 Period 7- Acc. Math- I love this class! My teacher and class are fantastic and we do so much together! it's really interactive and fast-paced. This class is right up there with Orchestra.
2:00 Period 8- Social Studies- I used to like this period, but now math and orchestra are better. There's tons of drawing, which I like, but there's too much. At least it's last.
2:55- End of day! Warrants celebration. And even on Fridays my mom takes my sister and me to Sprouts to get muffins! I love Muffin Friday! Yay!
So that's it. Have fun, I guess!
Side Note: I am writing a sequel to my NaNo novel because it was too short (by my standards) to be published. So once I finish the sequel I will publish them as one book.

Okie dockie, Scylla! Her goes!
We have wierd schedules, so no times, but:
1st period: Science. It's ok, as you said. A little hard to wake up.
2nd period: History. Oh dear. Time to rant. Now, don't get me wrong, I love History as a subject, but. BUT. My teacher is horrible. We get nothing done, and are three months behind the other classes. Plus, I'm the only person who ever raises their hand and answers a question seriously. Bleh.
3rd period: English. I love it. Sometimes, the things we study aren;t the best, but most of the time they're interesting. Plus, my teacher is amazing. She's so sweet and nice, I love her. She also gives wonderful projects, and knows practically everything.
4th period: P.E. Bleh. Just bleh. I hate it.
5th period: Algebra A. I like my teacher, and she teaches quite fast pase, though it could be more advanced.
6th period: French. Ah-ma-zing! I love my teacher, and the subject, and how much we learn.
7th period: Creature Creations. The teacher is really nice, and I enjoy it, but a lot of people in t have nothing in common with me. I mean, most of them are movie and pop-culture geeks, which is awesome, but not at all ME! They look upon me as some strange specimen from the 1800s. I mean seriously, I classics bookworm who barely uses technology? Those exist? :)
Anyway, cool thread idea! And thanks if you actually read through all that!
(December 9, 2015 - 1:33 am)
TOP!
(December 9, 2015 - 1:33 am)
Booksy, are you in seventh grade? I'm in sixth. We had the strangest assignment on English today-do research of FRUITCAKE. FRUITCAKE! Of all things to do research on, do fruitcake. I'm doing it right now. Did you know that fruitcake contains the following? It's true!
Dried cherries
Dried mango
Dried cranberries
Dried currants
Candied citron
Brown sugar
Dark rum
Salted butter
Unsalted butter
Eggs
Flour
Baking soda
Salt
Cinnamon
Molasses
Milk
Pecans
Try making one of those! Not really. I mean like... Never mind.
(December 9, 2015 - 7:00 pm)
Eighth grade. So... High school next year. *shudders*
(December 10, 2015 - 9:47 pm)
8/9 or so: First Period- Cooking. This is one of my favorite periods. We cook delish things and eat delish things. On Block Days we have extra time and end up just playing games that may or may not be of educational value while eating our delish food. (Or, in some cases read *coughcoughmecoughcough*, finish our schoolwork *coughcougheverybodycoughcough* and peek out the window to see what the PE kids are doing *coughcoughuswithsecondperiodPEcoughcough*.
*clears throat* I seem to be coming down with a cold.
10 or so Second Period- P.E. Alright. I don't really like PE, and I know it is absolutely terrible for the people who don't like running and whatnot, but some of the games can be fun. We have gym clothes and changing is terrible- not really because of changing in front of other people, I got over that- because it is freaking FREEZING on those floors and you're scrambling to get dressed and then shivering in those mesh shorts and t shirt. Also my PE teacher is one part good story teller and two parts evil. It's strange, I love her for having a cool personality and hate her for making us run lapturby, especially on days when I made something delish in Cooking, and, against my better judgement, stuffed my face. I have a friend who also has a bunch of other friends and I only have one class with, who I get along really well with. She and I both run at decent speeds, and we always make each other run faster. Whoever got more sleep or something the night before makes the other one run faster to keep up and then we both get a ten minute mile. (We have miles every two weeks and lapturby, which is basically a mile/mile and a half/two mile in the eighteen/twenty/twenty five minutes so we can walk or not sprint it).
10:50? BRUNCH! Ussually spent outside my third and fourth period classroom on the fancy new plastic bench (my school got remodeled and you can tell it's fancy and new even though I wasn't there last year) with my friends and two weird guys in my class. I enjoy arguing with them, which sounds weird but when my friends and I pwn them it's fun. Also spend a lot of time here helping an acquaintance of mine, a friend of my friend, to do the homework she should have done the night before but did not do. DON'T WORRY I DON'T GIVE HER THE ANSWERS. I just give her hints if she really and truly has no idea what the heck the problems are about.
11:00 or so Third Period- Math. ughhh. Math is probably the subject I struggle with the most. Just barely scraping an A-, I consistently fail on the tests and while I always THINK I understand the material and I do *sometimes* study, I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN AN A ON A TEST IN THERE. Speaking of which I have a quiz tommorrow I should study for... IT'S ONLY TWENTY PERCENT OF MY GRADE... ehh I'll do it later.
We're technically supposed to have a partner for it but we have an uneven number of students so I snagged the wonderful spot of partnerless. My efficency level has gone up like 20%. I hope I can keep this wonderful spot intact.
11:40 or so, I really do not know... Fourth Period- Science (With the same teacher as Math) Like Math, but slightly better. Also in our fourth period class we have a competition for "Spirit Points" by wearing green on thus and such day and bringing in bottles and whatnot. We had NINETY SIX PERCENT of our class decked out in green. *feels like a pro* I sure hope we win, I like meself some ice cream.
12:37-Lunch Ya gotta be a runner to get yourself a decent spot in line. tip: pack up before the bell rings as the teacher drones. Decent food. Best days are Thursdays, the Hawiian pizza for Pizza Day is definately worth the two dollars. And the frozen yogurt is fabulous.
Having gotten lunch I will then go to in front of my fifth sixth period room and eat on the bench or up on the ramp with my friend. Then having finished I will read/play a board game inside. We used to just eat inside but SOMEONE spilled on the beautiful carpet and now we're banned from eating in there. :(
1:10/1:15 or so Period 5
I actually forget if this is LA or SS. Anyway my LA and Social Science teacher just sort of does whatever at whatever times, so sometimes SS first sometimes LA sometimes just LA sometimes just SS. She gives us birthday cupcakes and lights candles on birthdays, gives us candy and time to read, and is just generally, you know, absolutely AWESOME!
2:05 or so: sixth period technically starts. We sometimes get a bathroom break and get to spend the two to three minutes usually spent switching classes going to the bathroom or just sort of waiting, maybe talking or something. Also the amazingly awesome TA (Teacher Aide) AKA One of The Last Sane Eighth Graders at My School. She said we sixth graders were nicer than most eight graders.
3:00 SCHOOL'S OUT! I hurry to walk to my pick-up place where I carpool, and quickly snag the front seat. Usually the guy I carpool with rides a bike but for like a week he hasn't. I hope he'll get it up and running because it's kind of annoying to have to walk fast to snag the front seat. The dad is really nice if kind of talkative and the mum has a strange tendency to get annoyed about things. Like everything. She's just really awkward to be around, for some reason. Anywho most days it's the dad so all's well.
Around three twenty I get home and then spend some time reading, talking to my friends and working on various projects. About four I do my homework and around six I eat dinner. Seven or eight, I talk to my friends, take a bath and talk to my friends some more. And do other projects.
My school has a thing called block days, which is basically you only do half your schedule, go to school later and have longer periods.
Tuesday is Evens, Wednesday is Odds. On Evens I get picked up around eight fifty, on Odds eight thirty. On Wednesdays I don't have PE.
(December 10, 2015 - 9:40 pm)
I have a different schedule for every day, but I am in school for different amounts of time every day.
Monday: 8:00-3:30 I am actually at school until five because I do speech team.
Tuesday: 8:00-4:30
Wednesday: Same as Monday
Thursday: Same as Tuesday.
Friday: 8:00-2:00
(December 11, 2015 - 4:03 pm)
I'm a homeschooler, but here's how my day usually goes:
9:00ish, we start school
We read some of the Bible to start our day.
I do math, if I feel up to it. Otherwise I do grammar or science.
Around 11:00, lunch
Sometimes I do math last, but we always have piano and Spanish to do. Normally I save those for last. Then, chores.
Other things we do are history and marine science, and P.E. counts as going and doing the chickens or catching our troublesome goat! :)
On Thursdays we have pottery at our art center, and we have piano lessons on Mondays.
(December 12, 2015 - 9:42 am)
I'm not in Juinor High, so I don't have periods, but story telling and stuff is fun so what the hay.
At 8:15 am I turn off the tv or my computer or my iPod and get my lunch box out of the fridge. I put it in my backpack and open the doggy gate to the staircase and go down with my mom and my dog. I draw on fogged up glass door and play with my dog until I see a black car pull up in front of my driveway. I hold back my dog so he doesn't escape, say bye to my mom, and run out. I get into my friends' car and say hi and stuff. (They're twins btw but not identical in any way.) The ride to school is really short but we talk about either what we did the day before, Gravity Falls, books, or anything else we're interested in at the moment. Then we get to the door to the school and we get out of the car. We walk down a hall the up some stairs and go our separate ways from there. I go to my HR (homeroom) first and I usually get there at about 8:33. My HR teacher is the reading teacher, so she checks to see if we have our reading HW done before classes start. I put my stuff away, get out the binders I'll need for my classes before lunch, and get my iPad off the charger. I either read or play on my iPad until 8:55 with some announcements and the pledge of alleigence in between. I gather my things and enter the traffic zone: the hall. I have language first. Language is my favourite subject for a number of reasons. First off, my teacher is amazing. She loves Doctor Who and Gravity Falls, and will always lend you a book or recommend a book if you need one. Secondly, I've just always loved language and writing. Third, her class is really fun! At the beginning she'll read a chapter or two of a novel aloud. We're on our third one. This is a really good start to the day. The things we do in language vary, but right now we're working on expository writing. We have language for an hour. Then I go to math, also known as torture. I hate math, and I always have. Wait, let me rephrase that. I love math! I depise math class. I don't know why, but every math teacher I've had has hated me. It's only gotten worse, and so has the work we do. With the horrible Common Core junk, we show way too much work, overcomplicate everything, and basically do nothing fun! We spend over half the class checking our homework which is completely unnecessary, and the students barely participate or interact whatsoever! All we do is sit there in our uncomfortable little chairs listening to the teacher go on and on and on and on while we write down every word she says. Blaaaaaaah. Finally at 10:55, it's over and I'm off to Social Studies/Science. YAY!!! I admit it's not as good as language, but compared to math class, anything's good. My teacher is really into technology and the iPads, so we barely use paper anymore, and we only bring it in case of a malfuntion or whatever. My SS/Science teacher is known for how funny he is, and it's true! This nine weeks, we're doing science, and usually my class schedule consists of answering a couple science questions on Google Classroom, watching a digital presentation, and/or taking a test and/or quiz. I don't know what else I can really say about Science. IT'S SCIENCY! Well after science I go back to my HR to get my lunchbox, my jacket, and possibly my book depending on what special I have. I either have gym, library, art, S.T.E.M., or music. I pretty much enjoy all of these some because I like what we do and some because of the teacher. After that,I get lunch at 12:40 which is way too late considering I haven't eaten since 7:00 in the morning and I barely ate anything at all. I sit with my friends and we talk about what we'll do at recess and tv shows we watch and rant about the troubles of school and life. Sometimes we have little event thingys at lunch like wacky Wednesday or funny Friday, but for the most part we just eat and talk. Unless of course the cafeteria serves fries that day. Then, it's a battlefield. About half of us have fries, and the other half is ready to trick, steal, and trade. French fries flying, us fake-crying, my friends all lying... yeah it's intense. The school makes really good fries. After this we have recess where we play either Super Squirrels, Spy School, or Recess the Musical. Super Squirrels is a game where all my friends and I pretend to be squirrels with super powers. Long story.. I have strange friends. Spy School is obviously where we all pretend to be spys in training and we split up into two separate teams, good and bad, me always being on the bad side since I love pretending to be a villain. Recess the musical is a... complicated game about a bunch of kids at recess. We all sing everything we say except one girl, played by my friend Kasey. She has some dramatic backstory about why she never sings, and she only raps. WE all try to convince her to sing and she refuses and then we find her singing in secret. It has a side-plot of how 3 of us are secretly homeless and live on a bench and we sing only to get money and one of us is a shapeshifter who's really a talking dog... yeah. I told you it was complicated!! After recess we have Reading for an hour and that's boring. It's not really torture, but it's not really fun either. Just really really boring. Then we have a half hour where we either go to advanced math (That's me!), go to a student government thing, go to an extra help teacher, or just do some homework. Then...... We pack up and go home!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I ride home in my friend's car again.
Note- On some days I go to the gifted program in place of math or language. Also some days I have chorus before school starts, so my mom drives me instead of my friend's mom.
Wow! That was the longest post I've ever written!! Sorry about all that reading and editing Admins! I'm so proud of myself! XD
(December 12, 2015 - 6:06 pm)
I'd love to tell you about my schedule, but my school has a different schedule for each day of the week and that could get a bit long. Anyway, at 7th period we have Options, as we call it. It's like an elective, but you can have a different one each day. Like me:
Monday and Tuesday I have "orchestra" which consists of six people. The only way the material is challenging is if I don't practice.
Wednesday is Silent Study, which is exactly how it sounds, except that it is NOT silent. At all.
Thursday I have Art Studio, which is really fun! Pretty much a free time in a room packed with art supplies to do whatever you want.
Friday is my favorite: Creative Writing. A quiet room, and FREE [un]interrupted time to write!!!!
