Old CB/New CB
Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
Old CB/New CB
Old CB/New CB
If all of you CBers who have been on for a year or more (yes, suprisingly, I do fit into that catagory, as I first posted in the early winter of 2014) are upset because the old CB is "drifing away," please don't leave! There is no Old CB/New CB. There is just CB. Always. What fun is it if it doesn't grow and change? People come, people go; ideas come, ideas go. We are a supportive family of writers and poets that share in each others interests, and, occasionally, our hardships in both the fantasy world and real world.
So please, let's welcome the new CBers, miss the old CBers, and have fun, and write! I'm sad that so many people are leaving! Danie, Air, Will, Quicksilver, Joss, Lyra and Juniper Mae (and many more) were probably the first people I began to RP with, post with, and critique with, as well as reading their posts. 3/4 of those CBers are gone now. Yeah, I miss them. But do I have to dwell on it and wish for the old CB to come back? No, let's just enjoy where we are!

Hear, Hear!
Rose Bud, will you post this in Down to Earth?
(November 2, 2015 - 3:40 pm)
Sure... I'll just copy and paste.

Wait Will left? Oh no.:(
I'm not sure that's right. I don't remember Will saying goodbye.

Wait, Will's leaving? When did that happen?
There's so few people left from crowd sorcery :(
Anyway, the most fun I had on the CB was probably Summer 2014. That's when I joined, and it's also when my favorite RP took place, and the crowd sorcery voting. And, I knew a lot more people back then. But the CB will never be the same as it was at that time. It's constantly changing, as many things are in life. Even though many older people are gone, there are new people coming in all the time who are just as talented. I agree with you that we should welcome new CBers. However, the rate at which old CBers are leaving seems to be increasing as of late. If you are going to leave the CB soon, unless it is for a very serious reason, please reconsider! :(

I agree with everyhting you said, but it's hard not to miss the past and get nostalgic. The Old CB was an amazing place, just like the New CB. I'm coming up on my two-year anniversary. I can't believe it. Only like two of the CBers from when I joined are still here. :(

No! No! Will didn't leave, I was just saying he was one of the first people (actually the first person) to ever comment on something I posted.

I agree! Though I am happy that so many new people are here, it's so sad that so many awesome people are leaving. The CBser were great writers that inspired me so much, but now most of them are gone. I, for one, will try my hardest not to leave Chatterbox. I may get busy and have to postpone writing, but I will sincerely try not to leave.
P.S. Thank you so much for mentioning me Rose bud!!

I'm a veteran of more than a year on the CB. I started when I was 13, and my fifteenth birthday is this month. I posted quite a bit to the Fantasy Dictionary on Crowd Sorcery, and was a pioneer of citing etymologies from such languages as Elvish. I've been here long enough to have seen the "Old CB," and I'm here to tell you that no such thing exists.
There has been change, yes, but it's been gradual. I do regret that a great many CBers have now left - Joe the Stickfiddler, Fire Eyes Phoenix, Winter Firefly, Red & Ruby, Brookeira - but there is no such thing as "Old CB" and "New CB." The CB is just as vibrant, just as creative, as it ever was, and if you ever doubt it, go to page thirty or so of the Inkwell and look at what there is. There's great writing on here, from the ENTIRE CB! I don't see how "Old" versus "New" matters- it is all the CB, we're all CBers, and this is amazing!!!
