Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

The first issue of Cricket came out September 1973.  The first art director was Trina Schart Hyman.  Trina drew for Criket for 15 years.  The reason Cricket is called Cricket is a small bit of a book (A Day of Pleasue) That inspired the founder of Cricket, Marianne Carus.  Read more about this in the September 2013 issue in Old Cricket Says.

In all, September is an important month for everybuggy at Cricket!  Here's a new way you can celebrate Cricket's birthday!

At some point during the month of September, go through all your issues of Cricket that you have and read all the stories you forgot, or never simply read!  I did this once and it was so much fun!  I followed a continued story and read a bunch of new ones.  It's all great fun!  Have your own fun too, this month of September on your bedroom floor celebrating Cricket!  Just make sure to clean up!  ;)
