Eighth graaaaaaade! I&#39

Eighth graaaaaaade! I'm going to be an eighth grader in three days! Yaaay! Anyone else looking forward to school starting? I certainly have a lot to look forward to. There's:

1. Stage managing a play.

2. Being an officer in our Jr. Thespians troup.

3. (Hopefuly) Being an editor on our school newspaper.

4. Staying later at dances.

5. The book club (called Pies and Prejudice), Story Club, and band (called Whipped Cream) my friends and I started.

6. Ellectives. I'm taking French, Drama, and Backstage Production!

7. School in general!

So, what are you guys excited for? Tell away!

I'm starting high school! I can't believe it, and I'm not sure whether to be nervous about all of the work or excited because my books look so awesome and I don't have to be bored out of my mind every day for the rest of the summer!

My Chemistry books look super interesting - I can't wait to explore tham. The downside is that it's chemistry, which means algebra. I hate algebra. Oh - and I'm doing Algebra II this year, too. That part I am not excited about. But I also get to do American History I (up till the Civil War) and American Literature I (It covers the same time erpiod as my history does.) And I have Penmanship (which is cursive handwriting) and writing a research paper (which replaces my Literature at the second semester.)

And I have co-op classes. Texas History, which I'm not looking forwards to that much, plain because I've heard and seen how rigourous the teacher makes her courses. I also have other elective classes - Life Skills, a community servise class, a miscellaneous class (don't ask. I'm not sure either, but no homework, so I'm not complaining.) and a yearbook and newspaper class. Only the last one and Texas History will have homework, but I'll bet it's a lot.

Oh - I'm also taking French, using an online course (my first year using that course and my third studying French), and karate (where I'm finally a blue belt!). So, yeah I'm exctied for this year to start. And I'll probably be really busy with school. But I like a challenge. Gosh, that was long. But, yeah, I am excited.

Booksy Owly - You're taking French and newspaper, too? Cool! Have you studied French before?

Yup, I've taken it for one year in school and two on Duolingo. Good luck in highschool! I'm sure you'll love it.

You use Duolingo, too? That's what I used for school! I finished the tree, though, so I'm using another online course - from some college I know nothing about, but the course is cool, so I'm not complaining. Did you finish the tree? What section was your favorite?

1. Studying lots of science and science expirements. (My first project is to make a  Frankenpie's monster)

2. Taking French.

There are a lot of other exiting things, but Nothing is imediatly coming to mind.

I'm tottally looking forward to school! Here are my reasons why:

~SIXTH GRADE! That means REAL Middle School. At my school they claim that 5th grade is Middle School, but it isn't.

~Advisories! At my school, there are four advisories, and you stay in your advisorie for all your middle school years. I can't wait to find out which one I'm in!

~The 6th grade Shakespeare play! I'm hoping we'll do Twelfth Night.

~Electives, but we haven't picked them yet.

~Running the school carnival, instead of going to it.

~Speech team! Hopefully my after school schedule will allow it.

~Seeing my friends!

~SCHOOL!!

There is probably more, but for now I'm pretty much excited all-around.

Hey fellow eighth grader! I started school last Wednesday! :) We're finally the leaders of the school! Here's what I'm excited about.

1. Hopefully getting a lead in the spring school musical.

2. Cotillion!

3. Getting first priority for our elective choices

4. Seeing friends from my grade and other people I know from theater

5. School in general, too!

But also this is the last year at our school. Next year is high school- super nervous already!

Ugh. I don't like school.

Don't judge yet though, it's just because I'm homeschooled. I have almost no social interaction, and get really lonely. And when school starts, I feel really left out. Escpecially when people talk about clubs, and that sort of thing.

Sixth grade. Yeah, I know, for most of you sixth grade means middle school, but I'm still stuck in elementary. Furthermore (did I really just say furthermore??), I'm prepared for the B.Y.E.E. If you understand that reference you're my best friend forever. If you don't, it stands for Best Year Ever Ever! Switching classes with FOUR teachers and DOUBLE the students! NEW school with NEW teachers and NEW lunch ladies with NEW food and a NEW principal! Although the new principal doesn't have the best reputation and is cutting most of our field trips... it kind of turns out to be a good thing. Sixth grade means the ever-traditional D.C. trip in May, which is normally 4 days. But Mr. New-Principle is cutting it down to 3 days, yet we're still doing all the attractions and things. So it's official. All 126 sixth graders are setting their alarms for 4 am then rushing to get ready before the bus in the parking lot of the unopened school leaves for D.C. At 5 am. 5 AM. and then on the third day, we're packing our bags and driving home at midnight. As in we're starting the drive at midnight. And I live in Pennsylvania. So that's cool! But yeah, I'm so ready for sixth grade! Fun fun fun!

Wren, you sound lonesome. I've been homeschooled all my life, which sometimes makes me feel "left out socially," but I love homeschooling. Perhaps you could get involved in a co-op, or start your own! I go to a one-day-a-week group thing where it is set up like school, kind of.
