So, if you saw Indigo's thread, you may know of this.
Here is the announcement: Somebody left.
She, her CAPTCHA, her HQ, and most importantly her alter egos all faded from existence. And this time she isn't coming back.
Indigo, this is not your fault. Somebody just... her alter egos got out of control. But as they are aspects of her personality, she can't not have them and still be Somebody, so she left.
Everyone:
Please feel free to revert to the "old" CB.
Where apparently RPs were slower and alter egos were few and far between.
Where the older alter egos were special.
Where alter egos were a quirk in a few people.
The CB that you guys seem to want to revert to.
Please do. You people are awesome. Somebody left so you could have the CB you want.
I'm not Somebody. I'm the same person, but I'm not Somebody. Somebody, Shifting, and Volcano were all parts of one person's personality. I am that one person. I am the messenger. Once everyone knows that Somebody and her alter egos are gone, I'm gone too. And so that it won't be so painful, I will never visit the page again.
I would like to say thank you and goodbye.

Are you really leaving? You're the reason I always have and will forever more say 'someone.' Will you come back as a new person? Someone we never will understand is the great Somebody? Well...goodbye...I always loved your user name and though it was brilliant. I am away from my printer at the moment, but come back in a week and I will draw a picture for you.

We're not mad at you, Somebody, or your AEs. Things change. That's how the world works. Old CB was great, l know that from reading old posts, but this CB, the one that l joined, is good too.
l don't want you to get rid of your AEs. l want you to stay. In the short time l knew you, l knew you as a great and wonderful person.
Please come back. You are as much a part of CB as everyone else.
Please come back, for the sake of aruguing over Tau and Pi, for insanity, for yelling in all caps. We need you. We need your craziness.
l am crying right now. l don't want to lose you. Come back, for all of us.
If you leave, you will leave a great big Sombody-sized hole in CB. Tears will flow. You are like a friend, to all of us CBers.
As l said before, change is how everything works. Change is the universe. Change is way everything exists. l like this CB how it is and, someday, will change too. But that's okay.
l don't know you too well, since l joined two months ago, but to me, you are a friend. l don't want to lose you, friend.
Please, come back. Come back for Shadow-the-Dragon.
l care, l really care. You leaving will scar me. It will hurt me losing you. You may not read this, but l want you to know that l care, and you will be forever remembered.

Don't go Somebody! Please! We all love you, and CB really wouldn't be the same place without you. It would feel... Empty somehow. Reading this post made me sad. You are our good friend, and the old CB and the New CB aren't all that different! Much crazier, obviously, but we're still friends one way or another! Alter egos aren't a bad thing. They help to show your personality. PLEASE DONT GO!

No. Please, please, please don't leave! Somebody, you are one of the core CBers, the CB won't be the same without you! Your alters, everything, is part of what the CB is! I know I'm a newby, but when I first arrived you were one of the people who welcomed me and made me feel like part of "the crowd". Please, please, stay. Don't leave because of a foolish argument. There are tears in my eyes right now. Don't do this to us. Don't leave!

Do whatever you like. Make a million more AEs! Just don't leave. This kind of drama has happened before on the CB, and we don't want it to happen again. Besides, if you left, the CB would truly not be the same. The change would shake us as much as Everinne's leaving, but believe me, it could be even harder on many people. You were a good friend to everybody and a kind of model CBer...the one that all the newbies seem to look up to. And we can't lose Somebody! Your AEs are totally fine, it just seems that some people might appreciate it if they were kept away from specific threads. I know that it might seem like locking away two thirds of your personality--wow, that sounds really bad. And since I'm not one of those people who has a problwm with your AEs, I can't speak for them. If you could just have a conversation with people who were a little more anti-AE, you might be able to work something out. Just please don't leave, you're a part of the CB now.

Please stay!You were one of the only ones that were nice to my alter egos . After my alter egos would say something sometimes people would post mean comments about them . My alter egos have been on here for about a year and they always feel like no one likes them . Please stay you were a really good friend you and I survived last alter ego war and I know we can survive this one! I like you and your alter egos please don't go !

I know that you said you wouldn't be reading this, but I want you to know that I liked YOUR alter egos. Danie and Squeak always make me laugh, St. Owl's AEs were always slightly confusing, but you had REAL alter egos. I think that people are going around making alter egos and then barely using them. If you are going to create and AE, use it! That is my opinion and I don't want you to leave.
On another subject (this is dumb) I have often wondered if you guys would miss me if I left (told you it's dumb). I am guessing you would :)

Oh, and if you're really worried about your AEs, here's a suggestion:
Remember how Dev used to be? Crazy, barging in on every other sentence? Now think about him now. He's still a hyperactive vegetable-hating lunatic, but he's more... mellow. It's subtle, but he is definitely a different Dev.
The first time, when people talked about how they were getting annoyed with AEs, I felt bad because I knew how annoying Dev could be. Now? Not at all. So, if you really feel so bad about it, you could try that. Just mellow down Shifting and Volcano a little bit, and don't use them quite as often.
