Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Hey guys,&nb

Hey guys,

I get that we're all 'okay' with alter egoes now, but could we limit it to two per person? I still feel hurt when you guys are like, "Yeah I have a new alter ego let's throw pies".

No, scratch that. I really just feel hurt that no one asked me when they started throwing pies. That's my signature thing, and you've made it run-of-the-mill. And it makes me feel awful.

I'm taking a break from the CB for a few months. I'm not very interesting anymore. No, don't panic. I'm still really mad at myself for starting that controversy a while ago. Brookeira is temporarily replacing me with Baelfire.

Baelfire: Hullo! I am a fire elementlist. I'm not insane. (people boo) Well, I can be.

Dear 'Masked Piester',

Ever hear of something called Muse Magazine? It's in the Cricket family. It's full of cartoons, drawn by a really awesome cartoonist Larry Gonick. On the cover, is the description;

'The Magazine of Life, the Universe, and Pie Throwing'.

The (awesome, hilarious) cartoons inside, consist of, among other things, a character Kokopelli pieing, and threatening to pie, other characters.

If you look through the back pages of Chatterbox, you will sometimes see mention of pies and pieing, also Hot Pink Bunnies, from Chatterboxers that are also on Muse, (even without, unexpectedly, any Alter Egos involved.). Some people on Chatterbox now may also read Muse, and may be continuing a running joke from there.

However, even if you yourself did bring all mention of Pieing to this forum- creating a running joke is something to be proud of! When other Chatterboxers, and their Alter Egos pie somebody, try a different approach; feel a bit of joy that you brought something here, something that others liked and took humor in. Chatterbox is a community, kids here learn and grow and interact with one another. Some newer people here may not be aware that you created this running joke; they may think it's simply part of Cricket. But if that's true, be proud that you created part of Cricket! That you added a bit, because really, what Chatterboxers add to Chatterbox, is really what Chatterbox is.

Being too concerned about being original can make things like running jokes, trends, etc., disappear, or become unfun altogether.
