Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Admin, I would like to share my views on some of the choosing of recent quotes selected from the CB for including in the Letterbox. First, there are never enough of them... second, they're getting boring, and here's why: You are repeating yourselves. This month's (only) CB extract, from SE, was all like, "The CB means a lot to me it's awesome friendly friends blah blah blah..." and that's great! I'm glad SE feels that way. We all do.

But this theme of "the CB is awesome" in selected comments has been seen way too often, in my opinion. We need some more variety! Like, what I think is that the selected extracts shouldn't be selected in mind to fit with the letters for a start. Well... actually, I guess it's fine if they fit with the letters, that can still be a bit of a choosing point... but it shouldn't be considered absolutely necessary. I think that it would work better to select some extracts from all sorts of threads, maybe even specify which thread each comment comes from...

Okay, you don't have to listen to me on the subject of exactly what sorts of comments or how to present them, but the point is I think that different sorts of comments from the CB ought to be included. They don't have to be exactly the stuff I'm talking about here, just get some different things in! Also, while I'm at it I think maybe you guys could have an entire section of the magazine reserved for stuff from the CB, but again, that's just my idea and you don't really have to care.

Heck, you don't have to care about any of this; I'm not your paid advisor! Just a friendly reader sharing my opinions. (I worry that I may be failing to adaquetely sell that image.)

(Oh, and while I'm speaking to you guys, you never did get back to me on that movie thing. Are you still discussing it?)

Thanks, Joe, for your good ideas. Feedback from readers is important to us. We do hope to involve Chatterbox more with the magazine. Crowd Sorcery is one way. We like your ideas for Letterbox, too. We're a small staff and have been too busy to follow up about your movie idea, but I've passed your whole comment on the editors.
