@Viola: Snobby ballpoint pens. At least, that's what I call them. I forget what brand I use but they're expensive. XD only the best for the awesomely creative writer.

XD I like pretty much all pens, but my preferences do tend towards ballpoints, especially the kinds with caps and black ink. Gel pens are good, but standard Bic pens have a feeling that reminds me of the better parts of school and of a few particular art styles I love. I'm a sucker for good linework. The kind I generally use for just about everything is called Pilot Precise V5, extra fine tip.
