Steve: *makes weird

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Steve: *makes weird face*

Theo: Yeah. Steve's playing "Wild Thing" in my ear

Steve: So when we left off, Steve was blah blah blahblah.

Theo: Okay then..

Steve:*'Wild thing'*

*We mess around on guitar*

So... is this a music thread?

@Admin, Pigs in Space is one of the best parts! I also like the Swedish chef. Steve's favorite.

Oh, yes! I'd forgotten about the Swedish chef.

The Swedish chef is the best, especially in the TV shows! It never ceases to amaze me how many things can be twisted from their original meaning. For example, take chocolate mousse. Mmmm! The Swedish chef pictures it as a moose with chocolate smeared on the fur.

Isn't the Swedish chef kinda racist? He was all like oum noum noum and things like that.

Or maybe I'm miss-remembering. I haven't watched any muppets stuff in years.

I don't really think he's racist. Yes, his talking is difficult to understand, but I don't believe that he's trying to be racist. It is just supposed to be funny because of his actions (chocolate mousse...) not exactly how he's talking and stuff.

I'm not going to go into it alot, Blahblahblah, but the word you're looking for is not racist. Racist is juding another by their skin color. You may be looking for sterotypes or bias. Most likely sterotyped. Sorry. I was part of the equity and anti-racism group lat year at school, so I know these things.

I don't believe he is, anyways.

It should be a random thread.

I've grown up with the Muppets, but mostly the TV ones form the 80s (I think). The Muppets are actually sort of fascinating, especially the people who control them. It must take tons of skill and practice!

Something you may not know about me is that I actually write and control puppet (actually marienette) shows! Ok, ok not fancy ones, only family shows. You see, my cousins and I work together to write puppet scripts and present them to our families over the holidays or when we get together. We have created history shows, camping trips, time travel scripts and a family Christmas for our shows. We call ourselves The Puppet Pals. We have definitely come a long, long way with our shows since the first time a marienette show. Think of a nine year old with a marienette shaking the puppet and swaying it from side to side to make it 'dance'. That was what our first show was.

Here is a kirigami Kermit finger puppet I made, inspired by the origami/kirigami awesomeness presented in the Origami Yoda books. I don't remember how I made him, but if anyone wants to know I could figure it out.

@JDD

I think I'd be good at it because I, even though I'm not the best singer, I can change my voice for different characters.  If I work really hard at it, I can even do impressions.  I'm also good at improving (as long as I have someone to interact with), so I should be good.  And, although I haven't had much experience with puppets, I pick up technical stuff like that pretty quick.

@Theo

I'm currently bouncing around the original episodes on YouTube.  I'm not even close to watching all of them, and it's certainly not in order, but I'm getting there.:)  My favorite one so far was the one with the Star Wars characters.  The gargling Gershwin bit was super funny and I found the ending super ironic.

@Theresa

That's a really cool hobby!

@Gollum

Guys and Dolls is pretty cool.  I like Wicked's music a little better, though.

Star wars....

STAR WARS?!

Okay, okay, let me think here.

No.

I can't remember it!

(Does an internet search)

I watched the first part of it, and I don't recognise it at all! I would easily remember that one!

What season was it?

Is there a secret season four I don't know about?!

There were five seasons of the Muppet Show, dude. Disney has published 1-3 on DVD, but not yet 4 and 5. The Star Wars episode was in season 4.
