Chatterbox Mail!
I had the idea that Chatterbox could use some mail. So, here's how this would work: You choose an "address" that is a series of numbers and letters. Make sure you post it in the comments. Then start a thread that has your address as the title. Then, people can post comments on that thread that are addressed specifically to you. Be careful about what you "send" though. Remember that even though it's your mail, anyone can read it.

So an address like... 43 Cricket Steet or 8 chirpalot lane?
(June 19, 2012 - 4:48 am)
That could work. Anything really.

This sounds pretty cool, but I feel like it could go really bad really fast.

I know. It was just and idea.

What do you think will happen L?
(July 6, 2012 - 2:48 am)
I don't know what L meant, but here's what I think:
-there are a lot of Chatterboxers. If each one made their own mailbox, it would crowd up at least the front page. Everything else would be crowded out, and it'll be Warriors all over again. Just from reading some of the threads set in that era, I can see that we do not want that.
- we will begin to assume that our mail is private, and send things possibly meant for someone's eyes only. Gossiping, a 'top-secret' revelation of who you are in an SI... But, the trouble is, the CB does not work like that. You can access any thread, which means that you can, in turn, access everyone's mail.
- where you get mail, you get junk mail. Mail advertising a thread, saying something mean, or just saying something random because they've got nothing better to do will begin to pop up. Everywhere. They'll often be anonymous, which'll add to the confusion.

You've got a good point. Was the warrior time really that bad?
(July 10, 2012 - 9:49 pm)
Clans crowding out all of the other threads in BaB. Warriors and anti-Warriors trolls that call people 'bumbling furballs' and deliberately send threads to the bottom. Talk of a war against all made-up clans. The only threads not related to warriors are asking the Admins to do something about Warriors, making fun of Twighlight, or attempting to discuss Harry Potter. If you don't think that's bad, tell me what is.
I used to think it wasn't that bad either, until I went hunting for an old thread of mine, then missed it. I went further and further, sometimes clicking on interesting titles. Gradually, I stopped seeing thread titles that I knew. I was in the Middle Pages, realm of the dead and forgotten threads.
Then I saw the thread banning Warriors. I was curious, so I read it, and many other significant threads of that era. As I went deeper and deeper, I was in the heart of Warriors.
And I knew that I was glad I did not belong to it.

Gah. I got carried away there, didn't I? You should read the Warriors Era, it's a great education inCB history.

Wow! I never knew. On other forums or whatever you call this besides Chatterbox, we did warriors all the time, but it never got as bad as what you've just said. I guess there were lots of people taking control so younger people like me didn't go crazy. But that was years ago.
It's really cool that Chatterbox has a history, thanks for telling me all this.

Yeah, it got so bad that the admins had to forbid the making of new ones. I never really liked them, so I stuck to Inkwell then.

Hey guys! I'm sorry I came aup with such bad idea! I must admit after I posted it I thought of how bad an idea it was. Well... uh.... Goodbye!
A.S.... Signing off!

Hey A.S, you never really know what an idea is going to turn out to be until you've tried it and others have looked at it.

Oh, thanks Saz! That cheers me up! Not that I wasn't already happy! On a completley different subject, do any of you think I should start putting my real age in the age box? The thought just occured to me.
That is the intent of the age box. We'd like to know how old our Chatterboxers are and where they live. That's the purpose of the Location box. We think everyone would be interested to know that. However, very few people seem to enter realistic info. I do admire the creativity of some of the answers. Whenever I think of Brynn, I picture her on her magic carpet.
