Christy~
"Bye-bye Christy," my oldest brother Christopher teased in a whiney voice. Yeah, his name is Christopher, my name is Christina. Long story.
I scowled. He was just trying to embarrass me. Just wait till I can do magic, I thought. I reached Platform 9. The next one was Platform 10. "Ugh, now what do I do? There's no Platform 9 3/4!"
"Hmmm..." Chris said in a deep, what-he-thought-made-him-smart voice as he read from the paper the owl had delivered. "It says here that to enter the platform 9 3/4, run straight at the barrier between Platforms 9 and 10." He grinned at me. "Go ahead."
The barrier looked way too solid to run into. "How dumb do you think I am?" I asked. "You go first."
"Okay..." He tried running straight at the barrier. Yeah, it was solid. He came back to me rubbing his head. I muffled a laugh, almost managed to keep a straight face. Well, not really. "Don't grin at me stupidly like that. What are you supposed to do?" 'Umm... what am I supposed to do?' I wondered. Just then an older boy with white blond hair ran by, sniggering. "Muggles can't get through, or didn't you know that, mudblood?" he asked snidely. I didn't know what mudblood meant, but it didn't sound nice. I made a face at his back as he went. When he reached the barrier, he just disappeared.
I blinked. His parents followed him, giving me a look. Christopher glared after them. "Are you sure you want to go? They didn't seem very nice." "I'm fine," I muttered. Would everyone be like that? I took the trolley from him and pushed it at the barrier. I looked back once to see Chris waving, and then I pushed it forword, with my eyes closed. I emerged from the other side of the barrier amidst smoke and a huge train just pulling in.

Drake--
A girl bursts into the compartment, panting. Her red hair is getting into her eyes, and she looks upset.
"Sit down," says the blond girl, pointing at the seat beside her. Gratefully, she plops down into a seat and catches her breath.
"What's everyone's names around here?" asks the blond girl whose compartment I barged into. "I'm Rosie. I'm supposed to get into Ravenclaw."
Noticing that she said 'supposed' and not 'hoping' or 'wanting', but making no comment, I said, "Drake. Slytherin."
The redhead looks disappointed, and angry too. "Oh, Slytherin," she said, not quite masking her mistrust and even hate of my dream House. She got out of my compartment and began to walk out.
I, however, stood up.
"Don't you dare!!! I've heard it already," I yelled, putting on a fake whiny voice. "Slytherin is ba-ad, Slytherin is ba-ad. What if I came up to you and said that Gryffindors were idiots?"
"Which is basically what you just said!" she yells back.
"That's the spirit," comments a black-haired girl that has materialized in the doorway. "Gryffindors ARE idiots."
I turned to her. "What would you know about it?"
"A lot, thank you," she replied. "And what about you?"
"I would know that Slytherin stereotypes are ridiculous."
She pulled out her wand. "I know all about you. You have a Muggle mother. And you want to be in Slytherin."
I pulled out my wand. I've, let's just say, learned a few things.

Wendy-
You stay out of this, Isabelle!" I snapped, glaring at her. "Just go bother someone else."
"Oh no Wendy," she said. "I found just the person I wanted to see. We never finished that duel, you know." She slowly started walking towards me, her eyes gleaming.
"Guys," Rosie said, trying to cut between us. "There's no need to fight."
"Actually, there is," Drake said, taking out his wand. "Don't you EVER talk about my blood status again," he growled at Isabelle.
"And don't you EVER call my mother a blood traitor again, you-you..." I stammered, taking out my wand. Isabelle suddenly seemed to realize that the odds weren't in her favor, and she probably noticed the hate and rage in my eyes. Drake must have too, because he gave me a quick, slightly confused glance.
"Don't think this is over, you two," she said, backing away. "I'll see you again." She spun around, slamming the door behind her.
I looked at Drake and gave him a small smile. "Nice," I said, sticking my wand back into my pocket. "You're all right, for a Slytheran. It's Wendy, by the way."
He nodded. "Drake." We plopped down in a chair and looked at Rosie. "Sorry if we freaked you out," Drake said, looking embarrassed. He then turned to me. "So, what was she bothering you about?"
"Oh. Um..." I looked at my hands. Though Drake and Rosie seemed nice, I wasn't sure I trusted them enough to tell them about my mother, or why I hated Slytherans so much. I didn't want their pity. And I had every right to hate Slytherans. One had killed my mother, just because she liked muggle-borns and tried to help them. "It's complicated," I said, biting my lip." Though they seemed curious, they didn't push me for details. They seemed to understand that I had a reason for not wanting to talk. And I suddenly had a feeling we might just get along.

Since no one is responding, I guess I'll continue...
Wendy-
I heard the train come to a grinding halt outside the station. Rosie, Drake and I all rushed to the window, eager for our first look at Hogwarts. But all we could se was a dark station, with kids milling around outside. "Well...here we are." Drake said nervously. "I guess we get off." All three of us trooped outside, following a group of first years.
"First years, this way please!" a crisp voice called out. "First years please!" A woman who reminded me of a toad with a wig on her head was staring intensly at us. "Who's she?" I whispered to Rosie."No idea," she whispered back. "My brothers told me a guy named Hagrid brought all the first years." Shrugging, we followed the woman to a harbor with small rowboats bobbing along. "In the boats, please," the woman called. Rosie, Drake, and I jumped into the same boat. I could just feel Rosie shaking slightly next to me, probably from nerves more than cold. "We'll be fine," I whispered as the boats took off. She nodded, looked up, and gasped.
Hogwarts glowed in front of us as we sailed towards it. Its castle-like shape seemed alive with excitement and magic. "Wow," Drake whispered. I could only nod in agreement. Hogwarts really was wow.
We jumped out of the boat and walked slowly into the Castle. The candles gleamed brightly as we walked nervously into the hall. A tall, beak-nosed woman stood in front of us, looking over her glasses. "I'm Professor McGonnagell," she said. "In a few minutes, you wil alll be sorted into your houses. Please follow me."
We trooped into the main hall, which I goggled at until Drake leaned over and whispered, "Close you mouth." I instantly snapped it shut and gave a small grin. When I looked to the front of the room, I noticed a tattered hat sitting on a stool. Professor McGonnagell stopped us and turned expectantly to the hat.
Even though the thing opened its mouth and sang, I barely noticed, I was so nervous. Finally, I heard McGonnagell say, "When I call your name, please come forward." She cleared her throat and called, "Molly Anderson!" A girl in brown pigtails and glasses came shakily forward, clunking down onto the stool. The hat barely touched her head before it yelled, "RAVENCLAW!" She gave a relieved sigh and rushed over to her table, shakily laughing. The hat went on and on, finally getting to Isabelle, which it instantly yelled, "SLYTHERIN!" I heard Drake moan behind me.
"Wendy Coleson"
Taking a deep breath, I slowly walked towards the front, trying to breathe. Sitting on the stool, I felt the hat sink onto my head and over my eyes. "Well well well. A Coleson," the hat murmured. "Let's see... a lot of bravery, a kind heart, a sharp temper and tongue... and a bit of anger stored in there too. Towards... is that Slytherin?" I held my breath. "Be careful with that, girl. Hatred gets everyone into trouble." "I have a reason," I whispered. "Oh?" said the hat. "Well, if you are sure, I guess you're going your parents way, Coleson... GRYFFINDOR!"
