Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Romance (you can guess who this is already)
Yah peeps, so...
Yah peeps, so I have to put death and romance into everything. Lilian is destined to die, so is Lupus, Deren's already dead. I gently push lovvee into everything. Like the Draco<3Endey relationship or the Falling in Love.
So, I'm sorry about this. I know I'm annoying, but let this serve as a warning.

I don't like romance everywhere and all the time, but I do think that romance is an important thing in books, and it's unrealistic when there is none. Same for deaths.

I'll admit it- I like romance, too. :)

I don't mind romance when it seems real and that it's possible that it could happen in everyday life. If it's soppy and moon-y and that kind of thing, I feel tempted to throw the book out the window.

I'm like that too. But I can't like have ONLY romance. It has to have action in it too. For example I got through 8 pages of twilight before I stacked up play-dough cups and threw the book at 'em. It was so much fun. :P I don't wanna be mean to the Twilight people but 8 pages is my new record.
Anyway ya, not to much romance or it completely ruins the book.

I really really like too much romance. And I would gobble down all the most romantic novels in the world. The problem is, those kinds of novels, (even moderatly romantic,) fall under the 'innapropriate' category in my mom's department. I guess the reason I'm starving for a book like that is because I can't get to those books so it's not like a regular old 'yeah this happens all the time' kinda thing. It's because my mom never lets me read them!!!!!! I read one book called 'The Goose Girl' which was a really good romantic novel. And Sam, I recommend it to you because it has romance AND adventure in it! 'Little Women' was also one. And with those books I appreciated them so much for the romance! There's a book called 'The Lily Pond' that I really want to read, but I'm not sure my mom is going to let me read it. :( :( :( :( :( It's about a girl who is Jewish and I think she is Russian. She rents an apartment, and later falls in love with the landlord's son. My heart melted when I heard about it. <3

I know a couple of romantic books that are completely 100% appropriate! I'm like you, not reading that stuff too much, it's hard to call it cliche.
Mara, Daughter of the Nile by Elouise Jarvis McGraw
The Sherwood Ring (can't remember who it's by!)
But these are a couple of my favorite books! The reason I can't remember the author of that last one is because she wrote almost nothing else. But yeah.

Oh, don't worry, Emily! I can find out the author by going to Amazon. Okay.....oh! Here: Elizabeth Mari Pope?
Anyway, thanks so much! Before I read them my mom has to look at the reviews on Amazon and she decides from those whether or not to let me read them. But since I have discovered her preferences, I will look at them myself first.
I'm not so sure about Mara of the Nile since some of the reviews talk about the book being moe fit for 'teen girls' but one review doesn't make a whole lot of diff so I'll ask my mom to look at it anyway.
The Sherwood Ring I looked at and my mom will prob say yes. There is nothing there that she wouldn't like and I like how one of the reviews says 'for anyone who loves history, adventure, and romance' and I happen to LOVE all 3! People are also saying how it is sweet and well-written.
Thanks again for some AWESOME book suggestions! I will definetly ask my mom to look at them! I may wait a while just so I can finish some other books I'm reading. As I think I may have said before, I'm reading Wives and Daughters which is a romance book (which is really good) It's by Elizabeth Gaskell, who lived around the time of Charlotte Bronte who wrote Jane Austen and all those other 'dainty lady' (as expressd in our house) books.
Spammy says 'ticy' he must think romance books are for sissies. ;)

I loved The Goose Girl. It was violent. *creepy grin* There are, like, three sequels.

Yeah I know. It's a series. I really want to read Enna Burning. It looks really good.

I love romance. . . I just can't help it! I can usually tell who goes with who and stuff like that, but it never bothers me. I like making up romance in my head too. What really annoys me is when two charaters you know like each other never confess!!! Or they do, but it's just like, oh, will you go out with me? or I like you. I like you too. Argh, it fusturats (oh, I can't spell it. my brain is fried) me!
Some books that have the perfect amount of romance for me are: Dragon Slippers, The Princess of The Midnight Ball (and te other ones. I love those!!!), The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, ad some others I can't think of right now. Like I said, my brain is fried.
