You are not the only one! For Term 1 this year I read The Merchant of Venice, now for term 2 I'm reading Hamlet.

There's something about Shakespeare which thrills me from my head to my toes. There is something about the way he writes which makes me dispair of ever writing as well as him. There is one line:

"Let's sit upon a hallowed ground and talk of the deaths of kings" that really makes me thrill.

I like reading it, but seeing it performed is always better.

When I was in sixth grade, my humanities teacher said that we could go see a Comedy of Errors downtown at Navy Pier, and so I went with two friends. It was so incredibly funny, but also inappropriate.

Shakespeare is so cool!  I was in a rendition of 'the Scottish play' (I hope you know what I'm talking about, since I'm not going to risk bad luck to say the real name of the play) when I was 11.  It was so fun!!!  That man's a genius.

That one is my favorite! I love the scene in which MacDuff finds out his family is dead. So moving!

I saw Romeo and Julliet near the city college. It was really well done and in English. :) Romeo had his shirt off near the end and everyone giggled. He also was having a bad hair day.

Ooh, I really really really love Shakespeare. My school's doing Hamlet right now, I'm playing Ophelia, and I am very much obsessed.
