Eragon
Because SC was...

Because SC was so amazed by Inheritance I decided to start Eragon. The beginning was utterly boring, but I kept reading it because I thought it might get better. I thought the part when he finds out that he's a Dragonrider and so on was okay. Then it became boring again. I can't stand the way he writes... It's so... Eragon felt tired using his powers but he still thought it was fun. Totally perfect. Well, not perfect; I don't know the right word. The translation could just be bad...

Anyway, what do you think of Eragon

Believe me, Eragon and all the books that followed it were best read at breakneck speed at one in the morning on your iPad under your covers without your mom and dad knowing. I highly suggest it.

That sounds like the perfect idea, because my mom doesn't exactly want me to finish Inheritance, but the only problem is... I don't have an iPad.

I liked Eragon. It wasn't the best book in the world, but it was pretty good. Eldest, however, was completely awful. It was SO BORING. I read a few chapters, but I just couldn't get any farther. It seemed like it was just, "Oh there's all this blood how sad and there's some empress girl or something-or-other and OMG she's so pretty and I'm talking to people about stuff and I'm awesome" and so on. So basically, I didn't like it. At all.

I skimmed it and hated it.

Christopher Paolini's writing style is not one that I love. He puts everything that could easily fit into one sentence into several pages. Overelaboration. Yes, several of the characters have some... moral difficulties. The fact that they don't recognize it makes it a bit worse.

Eragon has its flaws. I love it anyway.

If you though Eragon was bad, read "Tiger's Curse". Talk about overelaboration.

Are you kidding? I thought the four whole books could fit into only two. His style is too... florid, the word is. Annoying after a while.

That's the word, exactly what I thought. Florid.

Purple prose. Blech. Sometimes less really is more.

I think I liked the first book the best because afterwards, Roran started narrating, and basically, I think it would have been a lot better (and shorter, since we're talking about his overdone style of writing) if he left out Roran's narration and stuck with Eragon being central. I mean, come on, Roran's not even that important.
