Lord of the Rings Trilogy
It's my all...

It's my all time favorite book series. No one seems to know it.

Hi,   I like the Lord of the Rings a lot!   We are listening to all of them on Audio.   I've heard The Hobbit,  The Fellowship of the Ring, and am now starting The Two Towers

Since the movies came out, no one really seems to know that they were based off the most amazing books ever...Don't worry, I've read all 3 of them and loved each one.  They are kinda hard to get into, so some people don't like reading them, which I totally get.  But I think people should at least try...Smile

Those are some of my all-time favorite books, too! I love so many books that I can't pick just one book or series, though. :)

I like the Lord of the Rings books, too! Except I was eight when I read them, so I kind of forgot them.

I was eight when I read them, too, but I read them again a few years so I remember the story pretty well. :)

I beg to differ with your statement that no one knows about it. My English teacher is a huge fan, I am way too obssesed for my own good, and I know 5 other people who are big fans. In fact there are a number of fans out there who are very into it. Namingly fanfiction writers. There is a good Lord of the Rings / Hobbit / Silmarillion fanfiction site. It is a good site for fans of all ages because they have ratings on each story. My favorite authors on the site are Lady of the Lake, Ar-feiniel, Shadow-Maiden, Karlmir Stownwain, lindahoyland, and callerofcrows. So Aaron, I find that if you ask around a bit more you will find things you never knew of.

Balain na le,  (May the Valar Bless you)

I just recently finished The Two Towers (finally; it took me forever because I kept getting distracted and reading other stuff) and I'm about five chapters into The Return of the King. I like how much description he puts into it, especially 'cause a lot of books out there today have barely any adjectives in them, supposedly to "keep the plot moving." Yes, the lack of description does keep the plot moving, but it's much more enjoyable to read if it was written "prettily."

I liked the part in The Two Towers when Legolas and Gimli are having the contest to see who can kill the most Orcs, and the part where all the Ents are marching to the Deeps... that was seriously cool.

Dude, that was AWESOME!!!

Okay, for those of you who are undoubtedly looking at me funny, I shall explain. In the Return of the King, there's this really awesome part in the Battle of Gondor or whatever... I won't say exactly what it is, because I can't stand spoilers myself, but let me say that it was sooooo cooooool! "I shall smite you!" Gaah! I love that!

I read the first at 6, second at 6 and a half, and the return at 9. My Mom and Dad read the Hobbit aloud.

I LOVE The Lord the Rings!!! Except no one I know likes them either! My favourite book is the first one, or the end of the last one.

All other authors pale compared to Tolkien. His books are sublime, tragic, magnificemt, grandiose, terrific, wonderful, sensational, dazzling, outstanding!!! I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!! Anyway, has anybody read The Silmarillion??????? It moved me to tears...... the story of Beren Camlost and Luthien Tinubviel made me weep....even tho I don't cry much!!! This book is the greatest fantasy ever!!!!! I just don't understand how people can like HP and Twilight, when there's stuff like this out there......
