Terry Pratchett!!!
I really love...
I really love the books about Tiffany Aching by Terrry Pratchett!!!!!!! For your information, you think my name is TIFFANY just because of those books. Also I just love the name TIFFANY (and Tiffany lamps). Anyway, please say so if you love those books, or other books by Terry Pratchett.

Yeah, I love his books. Have you read the Discworld series, or just the Tiffany Aching books? If not, you should. :D
There's actually a lot of other Discworld fangirls on this site. *points to ZNZ and TNÖ* That's right people, I got the ö! 'Cause I'm typing on an IPAD! WHOOO!
Erm, sorry. But yea, they're awesome. <.<

I've heard that the Discworld series is good and I put one on hold. I'm really excited. :D
APC says HPMY. Harry Potter My? My Harry Potter? ...

I've only read about Tiffany so far, but I really want to read other Diskworld books.

Mememee!! *jumps up and down* Yeah, I also happen to enjoy Terry Pratchett. I lurve Discworld, though I'm not too far in the series (currently at Sourcery). But he's such an amazing author and quite hilarious. I have been known to be reading one of his books, in public, and burst out laughing earning rather strange looks. :)

I quite like the Tiffany Aching books, but that's no surprise because TERRY PRATCHETT IS A GENIUS AND I LOVE HIM AND I LOVE EVERYTHING HE'S WRITTEN AND THAT'S BECAUSE EVERYTHING HE PUTS HIS PEN TO TURNS TO GLOD [sic] AND THEN THE WORLD IS FILLED WITH ANGRY DWARVES AND WE LOVE THEM ANYWAY BECAUSE TERRY PRATCHETT TOUCHED THEM.
I THINK THAT METAPHOR RAN AWAY WITH ITSELF A BIT.
ANYWAY TIFFANY ACHING IS GOOD BECAUSE THEY'RE BY TERRY PRATCHETT.
AND I STILL THINK I SHALL WEAR MIDNIGHT IS ONE OF HIS VERY BEST.

NO, ZNZ, THAT METAPHOR REALLY RAN AWAY WITH ITSELF, BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE IT'S PAR ON COURSE FOR THE DISCWORLD.

@Tiffany: Yes. And you will have a wonderful time learning it, I guarantee you. :)
Anyone read any of Pterry's non-Discworld books, by the way? I'm fond of Strata myself, even though it's really old and not just because it's a more hard-scifi version of the Discworld.

I've just recently read the Bromeliad Trilogy, which I loved. And I loved the Johnny books, particularly the last one. Nation was good as well.
I might have to check out Strata.
(July 26, 2011 - 8:51 pm)
I've read Nation; it was amazing, and I'm going to put a quote from it in one of the very bizarre calendars I'm making.
(July 29, 2011 - 12:52 pm)
Which quote?
(July 29, 2011 - 2:23 pm)
The one about sheep, as it's a shepherding calendar.

Of course, the TA books become so much more awesome when you read the Lancre Witch books and get to fully understand the sheer, utter awesomeness that is Granny Weatherwax. Oh, and the short story The Sea and Little Fishes, which is ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING I might add. Only Pterry could reach levels of nightmare fuel equal to Stephen Moffat by making a character nice to people.
...Anyway, my favorite Discworld books are, in more or less descending order, The Truth, Making Money, Night Watch, Jingo, The Fifth Elephant, Hogfather, Going Postal, Feet of Clay, The Last Hero, Guards! Guards!, Witches Abroad, and Men at Arms.
And I am absolutely convinced that Vetinari is either an extremely knurd Time Lord. it is the only explanation.
(July 25, 2011 - 8:44 pm)
...I've got a lot to learn.
(July 25, 2011 - 9:40 pm)
I love these books! I haven't read many, but they are really, really awesome.

Okay Terry Pratchett is definitely some divine being sent to earth to bring good literature to the world he is absolutely the best writer in the history of mankind his books are so fantastically funny (pause for a deep breath) everything he writes is amazing but discworld is by far the best I’ve read everyone about 5 times.
Whew. Glad I got that off my chest. Been waiting to say that for a long time.

Terry Pratchett lives in England, an island off the coast of France, where he spends his time writing Discworld novels in accordance with the Very Strong Anthropic Principle, which holds that the entire Purpose of the Universe is to make possible a being that will live in England, an island off the coast of France, and spend his time writing Discworld novels. Which is exactly what he does. Which proves the whole business true. Any questions?
