There is this awesome book I read called "The Tail Of Emily Windsnap" and it is about this girl who figures out she is a mermaid. So if you join you can be a human or a mermaid. This is my profile.

Appearance: Brown hip-length hair, blue&purple highlights, purple tail, green eyes.
Age: 14
Species: mermaid
Other: Her father is the king of the sea and her mom, the queen. She is bffs with Emily. She likes to solve mysterys and since she is the princess, has magical powers!

Name: Kaia Karagatan
Age: 18 (someone has to be older) :)
Species: mermaid
Personality: quiet, more syren like than mermaid like, because her father was a merman but her mom was a Lorelei. (A counterpart to syrens. Syren like the ones that drown sailors and look weird, not the beautiful ones that sing.)
Appearance: short black hair with bright blue streaks, (hairstyle looks like she put it in a ponytail then chopped the ponytail off) light blue eyes, black and light blue tail, light skin. Because her mom was a Lorelei, she has slightly webbed fingers, claw-like nails, and her eyes look like those weird reptile eyes (with just slits for pupils) whenever she gets mad or upset.
Other: was orphaned about 4 years ago, lives on her own (pretty much in hiding). Spies and steals a lot, because no one will give her anything or give her a job, because she looks strange and they are suspicious of her.

Other: She was shipwrecked on the island where Emily lives now. She used to go to Emily's old school, where she was Mandy's best friend. She hasn't discovered the mermaids yet. Her parents (who are shipwrecked with her) were both in a band called Epic Sparkles. Her mom plays drums and her dad plays bass. They love music, hence the name Rhythm.

"Where Are you?" I was talking to myself. Emily was supposed to be in the water by now. I know she is a human. I bobbed my head out of the water. I saw her jump in. I went back underwater and swim near land to see her in the water. When I caught her, she said, "I have to go away for a week so if you don't see me that's why." Then we swam to our hangout, a sunken ship. "So what did you say to your Dad about becoming a human for a day?" Emily asked. "Well...he said I am forbiden to," I said. "Oh great, ust great!" Emily said. "What's that?" I said. I saw something, something scary!

"Demon!" the woman shouts after me as I swim off with the fruit I stole from her kitchens. She turns to go back inside, her tail catching the sunlight and hurting my sensitive eyes. Loreleis like me aren't supposed to be going around in daylight. We're nocturnal creatures. Yet that's what it's come to now; hurting my eyes with sunlight, getting called names like demon and monster, all in order to get some food.
I see a small fishing boat up on the surface, and a sly grin comes onto my face. How lovely it would be to sing a song to the fisherman. But no, I can't go up there in broad daylight. The human would see me as I was, and not as the beautiful fantasy maiden that was created by my voice in the darkness. Sunlight. What a horrible thing it was.

I've been missing life at home ever since we've been shipwrecked. Heck, I've even missed Epic Sparkles since we got shipwrecked. Luckily, there is a small farmer's market on the island, so we don't starve, but it's just not like home. I walk down to the waterfront area, where there are all the houseboats. Suddenly, something dives into the water. It looks like that Emily freak from school Mandy always hated. But it has a tail. Are there mermaids on this island? That can't be. Mermaids aren't real... but it's a human girl with a fish tail. That I know. I hate this dumb island.

Sorry it's so super short; my sister is nagging me for the computer. If no one minds, can my character be the villain, because Lorelei are pretty evil things in mythology, and Kaia apparently has a dark sense of humor and stuff. So can I be the villain?

The darkness is broken by nothing, not even moonlight. Tonight is a new moon, meaning no light. No light means no one can see me. A man's figure moves in the house-boat above me, there are many house-boats around the island that I found this morning. I raise my head above the water's surface, and start to sing. The man stops walking, and slowly, in a trance, comes to the edge of the boat. I sing some more, and reach up to grab him. Just a little closer and he'll be under the water. I grin maliciously.
"Harold?" a woman's voice calls sleepily from inside the house part of the house-boat. "What are you doing?" The man turns, no longer under my spell. I stop singing before the woman can hear me.
"Nothing dear," Harold says, and goes back inside.
Darn. Almost had him.
