Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Club!
I was flipping...

I was flipping through some old threads when I came across one mentioning some "Book Club Round". It sounded interesting and I would llike to know what you do there. If anyone's interested we could also do a book club!

Interested people took turns suggesting a book for the group to read, with the goal of discussing it either as they went along or after the book was finished. It seemed to take a long time to decide what book to read, for everyone to get it, etc. I think it was successful with one book by Shannon Hale, and maybe a few more. I'd support a new book group.

I like the idea of Treasure Island.

ZNZ: No, I haven't. I'll have to look into that. Thanks!

I'd like to read Treasure Island!

Also, I know it's a little bit late, but we could also read the Kingdom Keepers series! Maybe after we finish Treasure Island. I'll see if my library has it.

Sure! Just tell us the date that we should start it! Also, are we going to read it all the way through or stop at points to discuss it?

Why not start it today? It's on Google books for free.

I don't know about the last bit, so I'll just read the first chapter in case we go with the latter.

Let's do this: Read a chapter: discuss and so on!

For anyone who can't find it in your library, I think Amazon has good prices on some books!

And maybe we could start it on the tenth (??) to give everyone time to get it!

It's on the Internet for free, though. It's fine if you don't want to read the entire book that way, but one chapter seems reasonable.

Yes definitley start on the tenth!

Yeah, everyone who won't be getting their book by the tenth, ou could start by reading it on google. They should have the book at your library.

If I don't get the book by the tenth, I will read it online!

So does everyone have the book? I only bothered to get it down from the bookshelf today. It is an eighty-one-year old copy that used to belong to my grandmother. I am almost done with chapter one.

And I have decided to change my name on here from Elizabeth D. to Lizzy.

I treasure old family books that have been passed down from generation to generatios, Lizzy! I love think of my mother and grandmother turning the same pages years and years ago. A great story is eternal.
