Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Mysterious Benedict Society
Has anyone else...

Has anyone else read this book? If so, have you also read the next two books? They are called The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey and The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma. They are definitely on of my favorite book series. I highly recommend them.

I've read the first 2 books and loved them. My favorite character is Constance. I really hate the character quiz, though; it doesn't seem very well-done or reliable at all.

Yeah, I didn't really care all that much for the character quiz either. I think it was just there for fun, you know? My favorite character is probably Kate. Or Reynie. One of the two. If you like Constance, you should definitely read the third book. You know how Constance can kind of sense patterns, and tell when people are coming, lying, etc.??? Her "gifts" REALLY "develop" in the third book. They also find out a whole lot about Constance's "early life". Although she hasn't really lived all that long...:)  Anyways, it's a really good book. It has SO many funny parts. Sorry if I'm rambling a little...:)  I do that often.

I normally love quizzes to see which book character you have the most in common with, but this one seemed inaccurate. Just because you don't get many answers right, for example, doesn't make you Constance (though I wasn't. I really don't remember who I was. I'll have to take it again. I think I have the most in common with Reynie, though; in fact, I'm sure I do.). They should have had the answers each person would choose and had one character be the A answer choices, one person be B, and so on. Also, they should have had questions about things besides knowledge, because that isn't all that makes up a person.

I definitely plan to read the third book as soon as possible!

You have some good points there. I think I'm also most like Reynie. I like quizzes, too! I'm re-reading the first book for the hundredth time. :)  It's one of my favorite book series!!!

I love these series.  I could be one of them!  It said I'm most like Sticky...  I resent that1  Even though I do pick up everything I read.  And when you're talking about me, it means I pick up everything...

I love these books, but the first one is the best. I mean, the children aren't normal, but Constance is realllllly unnatural. I mean, seeing the future? I have a three year old brother who is considered pretty smart, so I know what three year olds are like. I think the author stretched things a bit with Constance, is all I'm saying. My fav person is Kate, I wish I were as acrobatic as her!!!

Well of course the author stretched some things, The Mysterious Benedict Society has lots of fictional elements...and I loved that Constance could see into the future! That was..awesome!
