Chatterbox: Blab About Books

comics, anyone?
We haven't done...

We haven't done a thread about comics in a LONG time, so I thought maybe I should start one, and as you can see, I did. This is where you talk about what kind of comics you like, whether they're:

A) funny

B) serious

C) historical

D) downright boring

E) all of the above

I prefer the A) funny type like Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Archie, Far Side, Mickey Mouse. I also like B) serious type becouse I like Super Hero comics.

Spam Guy says "pofw". Yes, I suppose in super hero comics there is a lot of punching...

Calvin and Hobbes is amazingful. Peanuts is good too. Oh, and I love Asterix, if that counts.

I prefer either serious or sarcastic/witty comics. Though I don't really read that many.

The ones I do read (including online comics) are:

-Calvin and Hobbes

-Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (and subsequent spin-offs)

-xkcd

-Far Side

-pictures for sad children

and, most recently because it proved FRIGHTENINGLY ADDICTIVE,

-Girl Genius

I don't really read comics (though I like Peanuts), but there are many in my English textbook, and I love Calvin And Hobbes, though I don't care for the others there. Unfortunately, my textbook tries to connect each comic strip to reading and writing skills I already know anyway, which can detract from the quality a bit...

Calvin and Hobbes= AWESOME. End of story. "Open your mouth and close your eyes, and you will get a special surprise!" "What?!" "Never mind, it crawled out of my hand." (or something along those lines.)

I am also a Far Side fan. "We've tried everything and you still won't talk--everything, that is, except for this little gadget we like to call Mr. Thingy." (picture of a carrot attached to a fishing pole) 8D
