Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Having books read aloud
Does anyone else...

Does anyone else have books read to them? (BESIDES YOU, NDT. I already know that you do.) I do. My dad has read us The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and now he is reading us Treasure Island. It's really awesome to have someone read to you--it gives a whole different feel to the story. The only drawback is that if you miss something you can't go back and find out what it said--you just have to keep on chugging.

Well, anyway, just wanted to know if anyone has had books read aloud to them. Admins?

Andy P. C. says udmu. Udmu...sounds like some African language or something.

Oh, yes! My mother always read to my sisters and me before bed, even after we were all old enough to read on our own. She would usually read chapter books. I especially remember Uncle Wiggley, The Five Little Peppers series, Heidi, and Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. But sometimes it would be a long fairy tale like The Tinder Box or East of the Sun and West of the Moon. We enjoyed those wonderful stories together.

Ya I love getting books read aloud! It's really nice. My English teacher is really good at doing foreign accents, so it's so much cooler when she reads it! But my mom still reads my brother and I a children's stories during the holidays. It's really nice!

What a coincidence -- my dad's reading us Treasure Island too! Isn't it good? And we just finished Huckleberry Finn, which really is hilarious in places.
