It was out
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
It was out on the 24th of August and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who ran to the bookstore as soon as possible that day. This is the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy and it wrapped it up amazingly. The first two books, for those who don't know, take place in North America after the fall of our civilization. Now, humans are living in 12 Districts that support one capital, Panem. Panem has a 'president' who keeps everyone in line and makes sure the the Districts are doing what they need to be doing. Each District has a certain job, like District 12 that mines coal, and District 4 that provides fish. At one point, there was a rebellion and Panem was able to put it down. To make sure nothing happened again and to show how much power they really had, Panem put into place the Hunger Games. One boy and one girl from each district are chosen out of a hat to play in an arena where there will be a fight to the death and one will survive. The story is about Katniss Everdeen, a girl whose life gets caught up in the action and her struggles. This trilogy is a beautiful tale crafted by Susan Collins, with wonderfully layered characters, an interesting, realistic plot, and a unique writing style.
Just wondering if anyone has read Mockingjay and if so what they think of it? I really love the ending and the character development, and would enjoy discussing it with you Chatterboxers!

Eh, Mockingjay? I also ran to the store as soon as it came out.
Caution. the followiing message includes Spoilers!!!!
*Sobs over Finnick. And Prim. And Cinna. And Madge. But especially Finnick.* the whole hijacked thing with Peeta was brilliant, in my opinion. And the creepy song, "The Hanging Tree" was also great in a sick way, since it sort of tied in to the whole thing.
But I wish you found out more about what happens to Gale, since he was a main character, or even found out if he was actually responsible for Prim. It was great, but I hated how she was unconsious when they took both District 2 and the Capitol.

I agree with Katie. (I just finished Mockingjay last night, past 12, it was easier to sleep after finishing MJ, but now I'm sad) And I expected a bit more action. Otherwise, it was pretty good. I think it's as good as the first. (I'm not sure if that's better or worse than Catching Fire) I wish more attention was paid to Snow at the Coin-event-thing. ;-)
