J.K.Rowling is a

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

J.K. Rowling
J.K.Rowling is a...

J.K.Rowling is a genius!

I'll try to prove it:

(from wikipidea: dragon)

*Some modern (long word I don't want to have to try to spell) accounts of dragons give them the genaric name Draco, although the generic name Draco is used in real-world biology for a genus of small gliding agamid lizard.* Draco Malfoy? How much more lizard can you get?!

(from me figuring it out)

Remus Lupin on Potterwatch uses Romulus as a code name. Romulus? Remus? Roman mythology? Awsome!!! And, Lupin literely means wolfish, he's a wearwolf, get it?

I hope I convinced you!

P.S.

Any more evidence?

Not to mention that, in the Roman myth in question, Remus and Romulus were raised by wolves.

Actually, almost every name in the series has some intriguing root—with exceptions, of course. Harry Potter, for example.

More evidence of JKR's genius? Well, she has said that she's quite similar to Hermione. That in itself is significant, wouldn't you say? ;)

Actually, there's much more evidence. To find it you can either reread the HP series or go to the Lexicon website. It's for HP-obsessed people who want to know this sort of thing. The essays are briliant. So's most everything else. HP-Lexicon. MuggleNet is good, too, in a different way...

sorry to offend all u HP obsessed people, jkr is not a genius. compared to Tolkien, she's a normal person. Tolkien invented a whole world which actually makes sense, unlike jkr's. he invented a lot of languages(the names are escaoing me right now). And as for jkr being like hermione , she's talking about character there.       VIVA JRR TOLKIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, yes, Tolkien is amazing.

That doesn't mean that JKR isn't *also* amazing, if in slightly different ways.

And the HPverse does make sense, you know. There are set laws and rules and they are, for the most part, met. Except the one about not summoning food out of nothing, which had been done multiple times before the introduction of the rule against it (i.e. that time McGonnagal summoned a tray of sandwiches out of thin air). Nevertheless, the HPverse has continuity, i.e. it makes sense within itself.

You also notice that neither Harry nor Tom Riddle are told how to get onto platform 9 3/4? I bet JKR did that on purpose too!

@Maggie G.-Calm down. Tolkien was a GENIUS with a capital G-E-N-I-U-S, but JKR is smart too.

Harry is Hairy! See? Yeah...and Royal. Royal is Kingsley! So yeah...

Vick says vmgt. It would be so cool if it was "Hary", "Potr", or "Roln". Hm..."Hgrd", "Rnld", "Fred"...

The annoying thing is 'rodent.' Where did that come from? The only thing I can think of is 'Weasley,' but weasels aren't rodents! They're mustelids! Or does rodent mean something else I just haven't thought of...?

@ Mattie: Look, I agree with TNÖ and NDT. Just because JRRT was a genius—and I'm certainly not denying that he definitely was—doesn't make JKR unitelligent.

Ya, I was trying  to think of a name that I could use here, and I figured, why not use the name, NAME?

Much as I love HP, I am unwilling to say that JKR is a GENIUS. Like Maggie G. said, compared to Tolkien, she is just a normal person.

Authors I consider to be genii:

J.R.R. Tolkien

Madeline L'Engle

Jean Craighead George

Victor Hugo

Louisa May Alcott

And I'm sure I'll think of more later...

And here are some authors I consider to be good authors, but not genii:

J.K. Rowling

Eoin Colfer

Kathryn Lasky

Erin Hunter (who is actually four people, but whatev.)

Not to offend anyone or anything! I'm just saying: JKR is a good author, and I love HP, and she did do a lot of research, but I'm still more willing to staunchly defend A Wrinkle in Time and Madeline L'Engle, or Julie of the Wolves and Jean Craighead George.

Andy P. C. says ahwy. Ah why? Read AWiT, Andy, and you will see why...

True... I suppose I wouldn't technically consider her a genius. Still, she writes amazingly.
