Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Green Ghost
Okay, so I...

Okay, so I forgot the author but can someone please yahoo or amazon or google or do whatever you have to do to find the author's name and post it on this thread!!

This book is about this little 9 or 10 year old girl who wants this green shaw (like little red riding hood's accept green) and she and her llittle sister set out into the woods to find thier family the best Chrismas tree ever! But when the girl finds it, it is a huge oak or pine tree and she tries to cut it down all by herself! Their father and mother were not with them so they were freezing and alone! The girl's little sister gets tired and cold so she lies down and her sister gives her her coat! Then the big sister lay down and the next morning the big sister was DEAD!! Her father and mother buried her in that green shaw she had wanted!! That was the first part of the story and she's not the only girl! There is a modern time girl and the dead girl (green ghost) visits the modern girl!

This a touching book! It is not scary and not creepy in the slightest!!

I'm pretty sure it is on Amazon!

* Plus it was so good I read it in 3 or 4 hours!!!*

Yes!

Thank you Admin!!!!

I knew it was a female author but I couldn't think of her name!!

Thank you Admin, again!!!

You're welcome, Vida. And thank YOU for telling us about the book because I hadn't heard of it before. But Marion Dane Bauer grew up near my town. Her award winning book On My Honor was based upon a true incident that happened here many years ago. I heard her speak at our public library a few years ago.

That's really cool, Admin!! What town or city are you in right now? Is she a nice person?

The incident in On My Honor took place on the Vermilion River near Oglesby in central Illinois.

Cool! Thanks for answering my questions Admin!!!!!Laughing

You're welcome,  Vida. I never really knew Marion Dane Bauer. I think she moved away from Illinois before I moved here. But I did hear her speak about writing at our local library a few years ago.

*blinks* Admin?... Vida (well, she put a variation on her name, calling herself MAD, MAD VIDA! or something like that, in case that makes a difference, but it was her) posted a comment a while ago, and I replied. Were they deleted, or was I just imagining things? (I've just not heard of a comment being posted, and then zapped a day or so later). I'm confused... I hope I'm not so deranged as to have made the whole thing up without realizing it. That would be unnerving. Or was this actually on another thread, myself getting mixed up? Hm...

I think I did delete a comment last night that I thought sounded angry, like shouting in all caps. It said about the same thing as a previous comment.

Good. I was afraid I'd dreamed it or something, because it just disappeared. And yeah, the comment I replied to was like that...

Yeah, that kind of creeped me out too. I mean, I saw that you had posted, and so I clilcked on it to see what you had said. And it wasn't there, even a comment on another thread that had been posted the same amount of time ago was up. And ... the last comment on this thread had disappeared too! I thought that either it was another thread -- but I was sure it was this one -- or I was going crazy. Glad to see I wasn't.
