Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Wind on Fire Trilogy
I know this...

I know this may be a longshot since these books seem to be a bit passed over, but has anyone here ever read the Wind on Fire Trilogy by William Nicholson?  This may sound trite (love that word) but this series literally changed my entire perspective on literature.  It's truly amazing.  An easy read, a wonderful read, and characters our age.  If you have read this and want to discuss, please let me know!  I need to find some other fans!  Or if you haven't and my rave review (however brief) has enticed you, please do read them!  You won't be wasting your time!

I haven't read this, but I will as soon as possible. It looks great! It may be quite a while, though, before I go back to the library.

To the top!

Aetc says kade. J and k are next to each other; maybe it was a typo for jade.

Hi there! It takes a little while for us to get posts up, remember, because we read each one. When we have to read through 50 posts that all say "TOP!" about the same thread, it slows down the process even more! Eep! Just try and be a little patient. Thanks! -Admin

Never read these. What're they about?

I think I'm on at the same time as Ima. Hi, Ima!

Nyrh! Near! It isn't at the top yet, but it's near time for it to get there! Thank you, O Amazing, Accurate, Fortune-Telling Andy et cetera! (... A, the beginning of 1 of his given names, and etc, the beginning of et cetera. That's why I call him aetc. Coincidentally, it's also 4 letters. Maybe one day it'll say its name.)

I wonder if I've posted enough comments to fill an entire page. Aetc thinks so. He says tzya.

I apologize for not posting every one of your "TOP"-related posts - they certainly could've filled up a page, though! -Admin

Admin, I'm sorry for making you read all of these comments. It must be quite annoying. I've posted many, all of them just about pointless except for the first. I'm just trying to make it go to the front page, as any ordinary thread will do in response to excessive commenting.

The thread with the most recent comment goes to the top - meaning, when I approve a post, that thread to which it was posted goes to the top. I'm pretty sure you'll always have to wait for me to publish your post before the thread will move. -Admin

...Really? Oops. I'm, well, very, very, very sorry for making you read so many unnecessary comments, then. I willl never do that again in the future. Sorry. Again. Embarassed

*is the same person who kept posting*

Oh, don't worry about it - now you know! -The Admin who read all the posts

Yeah... let's try to keep the "top" comments to a minimum.  Obviously they're annoying for our stalwart Admins, but they're kind of annoying to read. Sort of a false hope when I think I got 8 comments on my thread and really only got two.  But yes, you should read these books... they're awesome.

@ ZNZ:  It's a fantasy series (my favorite kind) about a set of twins, Kestrel and Bo.  Starts off in a city with an oppressive gov't (another thing I love) and how they rebel.  The second book is when they're taken as slaves, and the third is how they lead their people to a "homeland."  I don't want to spoil anything because I really hope you read them, but this is one of those series that inspires me to be a writer (and keep writing). Good names, interesting characters, REALLY cool world and settings, and like I said before, characters that our age group can relate to (and root for).  Kestrel may be one of my favorite characters ever, actually.  I rave about Katniss in The Hunger Games, but she doesn't hold a candle to Kes.

I haven't read them in a while because I like to wait until they're fresh again, but I saw them on my bookshelf the other day and thought I'd ask if anyone'd read them. If anyone DOES decide to read them, I'll read them again too with you!

I've read these books!  Wow, Tempest!  You're the only other person I've found who read them!  I LOOOOOOOOOVE Kestrel too!  But I liked Bo the best.  He was so sweet!  And Pinto was cool too!  I'm so glad to find someone else who read them... and liked them!  I made my big brother read them last year and he stopped halfway through the second... though he hates fantasy, so his opinion doesn't coung!
