My friend at school was pestering me to read it, and finally, I checked it out at the school library. But now I can't decide whether or not to read it! And that's when you Chatterboxers come in. I have decided to let YOU guys decide whether or not I should read it. You can vote yes or no and you can only vote as ONE person!!!!!!! The voting stops on 6/16/2010. Today is 5/22/2010. And the voting starts, now! Remember, one person only!

Hah!

Ever since I began reading what has become known among my weird octagon of friends as The Pagan Trilogy, I have gotten so many death snarls from teachers and such in my (Catholic) school. However, I'm almost done with book one and I really have no problem with it. It's well-written, original enough for contemp. fantasy, and it has an interesting storyline. Most of the characters are very well-portrayed, some of the concepts are incredibly creative, and the writing is very good. I'm not sensing all the anti-Church etc stuff that there was so much hype about. *shrug* I mean, I'm only through a third of the series, but so far I'm enjoying it. I recommend them highly.

Admin, I am ten. My birthday is Veterans Day.

OK, thanks. I have read The Golden Compass and did not find it objectionable because it is fiction, a story. It's not true. But some people think it is controversial, especially concerning the authority of the Roman Catholic church. I suggest you ask your parents if they think you should read it.

I haven't read it myself, ZB, but I think it would depend on how old you are and how your parents feel about it.

I started this, but I never did get finished because my weird teacher at the time kind of scared me away from it. I don't know, I liked it.
