Hey people!! I

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Anybody who is new here, well... Come Here!!!
Hey people!! I...

Hey people!! I am new here, and I really don't know what to do here. My friend told me about this site and I decided to check it out. Here are some questions that I hope some people can answer!

What is the purpose of Chatterbox?

What is the purpose of Blab about Books?

What is this whole, um, . . . 'fight' about the Warrior Clans and stuff?

What is RP?

If we can't make new 'Clans', can we still talk about other things? (my friend told me a bit about this)

Are you limited to making uh . . . talk about books thingys?

It would be great if somebody answered my questions! And I know this isn't about a book, but if anybody else has a question, they can type on it here!

What is the purpose of Chatterbox? On Chatterbox, we post about things we find interesting, and reply to others' posts. And, that's about it...

What is the purpose of Blab about Books? To blab about books.

What is this whole, um, . . . 'fight' about the Warrior Clans and stuff? Well, there were getting to be so many Clans that the people who wanted to talk about things other than Warriors found it difficult to find room (there's unlimited space here, but when new clans come up almost every day, threads get pushed to the back. Okay, if you're new, you may not understand what I mean when I say 'pushed to the back,' so I'll explain. When a new thread is made, it automatically goes to the front page, where everyone can see it. However, when the first person posts on it, it automatically goes to the last page (or occasionally the 2nd-to-last page). After that, every post brings it further to the top of the front. When someone makes a post that says 'to the top,' that's what they're trying to do. Anyway, the non-Warriors threads were being pushed to the  back all the time, so they asked the Warriors role-players to make fewer Clans, but they didn't, so they just kept asking, sometimes making entire threads to do so. Eventually, some of the Warriors role-players got really angry and decided to start posting Warriors-related comments on non-Warriors threads until the non-Warriors role-players stopped posting at all, and BaB (short for Blab About Books) would all be just Warriors role-playing threads and nothing else (which I would still consider extremely rude even if I didn't think there were too many Clans). So then, the admin stepped in, and said that no one could make any more Warriors Clans (which is temporary), or post that kind of rude comment on non-Clan threads (which, I'm sure, is permanent), because it was getting out of control (although of course we can still post on existing Warriors Clan threads), and if anyone attempted to do so without permission, their comment would be deleted, and now the 'fight' is over.

What is RP? An abbreviation for role-play.

If we can't make new 'Clans', can we still talk about other things? (my friend told me a bit about this) Yes.

Are you limited to making uh . . . talk about books thingys? Well, no, we are technically able to make threads on other things here, but BaB is supposed to be for discussing books. If you want to make threads on anything else, you shouldpost on abother Chatterbox forum. This Month (or TM, as some call it) is for discussing the latest Cricket magazine issue, Chirp at Cricket (CaC for short) is supposed to be for talking about the Cricket characters, although everyone just uses it for general randomness, Down to Earth (DtE) is for life and the world in general, Pudding's Place (PP) is for the arts, and Inkwell (which has no abbreviation) is for writing stories/poems/essays/etc, or talking about what you're writing, etc.

You're welcome! As for the designs by my name, that depends on what kind of computer you use. If you have a Mac, you can click on 'Edit' and then 'Special Characters.' There should be a list of types of symbols, and if you click on one you can find individual designs, as well as different varieties of letters for your name. If you use a different kind of computer, though, then I'm sorry, but I don't know how to do it at all.

For Windows: click Go, type in "Character Map", and you'll get about the same thing. Huh. Chinese characters. o.O

Admins, can we start making new warrior clans now? They have died down, and we all pretty much get the message that there are way too many clans, but now there aren't so much, so can we please make new clans!

 Dear Sarah,

There's still an embargo on new Warriors threads--we want to encourage you all to post on the old threads and keep them alive. But everybuggy should feel free to discuss the issue on this thread.

Thanks!

Um, Admin, I have a confession to make. I don't read Cricket. My friend told me to try this site and now I really want to subscribe. I don't know how, cause I have never subscribed for a magazine before. Please help!

You can order Cricket at www.cricketmag.com or by calling 1 800 821 0115.
