Chatterbox: Blab About Books
ENOUGH WARRIORS!
OK, guys, chill...
OK, guys, chill out on the Warriors. I like the books fine-they're awesome. But there must be about 100 new Clans, and about 75 of them aren't even paid attention to any more-because of another four or five new Clans popping up every day. If you MUST talk about Warriors, then start a new thread about the books, not a new Clan. It makes people disappointed to see their thread get pushed away-even if it is a Warriors thread-because of these new Clans.
I didn't mean to offend anybody. I'm just trying to say that there are too many Clans, and if you scrowl through the pages of BaB you'll see what I mean.
Thank you for reading this.

Hear, hear. It's really annoying. People, if you want to RP, join an exsisting clan. It's been getting better recently, but as soon as we have more non-Warriors threads, five new ones get made, and those of us that want to talk about other things get pushed to the bottom.
Have you seen the thread "Calling all Warriors cats!" by Moonfur? It makes me so mad. You should look. "This is our territory!" they say. It isn't. This site is not a Warriors site. It just isn't.
Please, let's try to cut down on Warriors a bit. Please. Like Wolfgirl67, I don't want to offend anyone, but I am really annoyed.
Thank you for reading this.

I agree. There are way too many Clans. I really enjoy the warriors RPs, but I don't create Clans. I join the ones that already exist.
You know LakeClan? The one with about 6oo replies that still has only one thread? I'm the leader of that Clan, although not the founder. I haven't even made a new thread for it, nor do I intend to, because there are so many warriors threads already.
Do you really want my opinion? I think Moonfur's thread is insane. We at least have never gone up to them and said, "Okay, stop Role-playing. That's enough," nor do we plan to (I hope none of you plan to). But they are suddenly saying, "No more non-warriors threads. Let's crowd them out, and keep posting until they give up and leave." That's just selfish. And BaB was created as a place to talk about books!
I don't understand why everyone wants to keep making new Clans.
However, I don't think this is exactly helping, either. The thing to do is to come onto the thread where they complain about non-warriors threads and explain why we have the right to make our own threads, and why they need to dtop with the new Clans. Not that that work either. But I'm going to keep trying.
See, these kinds of threads can block out BaB too, so I just think it may be better just to not make them...

@Ima: Well, exactly. I have no problem with threads like that, or with Warriors, really. It just gets. Out. Of control.
Yes. Moonfur's thread is insane. It shouldn't be, "Our threads are better than yours so stop making yours." It should be a balance.
I get what you're saying, but it's better than ignoring the problem. I will post on Moonfur's thread too. Let's hope it helps.

This is what i think is happening:
People enjoy participating in the warrior roleplays, but are unhappy if they don't get the position (leader, deputy, medicene cat) they want. So they go and make a new clan, posting themselves as the position in the clan the origanly want. Other people (cats) join and they have fun with that thread. Then the thread dies as people lose intrest or join other clans. the origanel person thinks "i still want to be clan leader (or other position) so i'll just make a new clan for people to join". this cycle might happen 5 times, to 10 people. thats 50 clans right there! it's no longer a 'i like this book, it would be fun to be in a roleplay about it' it is now 'i want to be clan leader, so i'll just make my own clan'. This is just my theroy, but most likely what is happening.
I am not saying get rid of the warrior clans. but if you just made ONE clan each, it would work better. I made a clan, people joined, lost interest and left it. Sure i'm no longer leader, but now i'm just a warrior. but i only made ONE and only ONE thread, not 5.
i mean no offence, i am just stating my observations.

@Nope: Yeah, that's probably it. But have you seen Moonfur's post? Soooo out of control!

I bet that's true. Actually, if you're patient, you can be Clan leader or medicine cat or whatever you want without making any threads, but apparentally most people are not patient. But I have managed to become a Clan leader and a lot of medicine cats without creating anynew Clans at all, so it really isn't that hard if you're willing to wait. But that's the problem. People won't wait.
And people who join Clans need to actually post on them. If they can't think of anything for the plot, too bad; making a new Clan won't help. I understand the dilemma of being the only cat to post, but you just have to join another Clan under a different name. Eventually, you're bound to get lucky and end up with a Clan that everyone posts on. It may take months and months, but it happens... usually.
At the very beginning, all Clans posted on one thread. It would be nice if we could do that again, but we wouldn't all fit, I'm sure. Unfortunately...
All we can hope for is that people will make less. I just wish there was something else we could do about it.
Besides make new threads about other things. I really, really need to do that...

I think this site is a good idea. There are too many clans. To just say, I have a warriors memory section and also a warriors spoiler page.
